Nice NW wave session. After 45 minutes or so it eased just enough i really should have come in and got the 6m, but decided to pump the last couple of rides, and call it.
Still a shit ton of annoying weed - if the sun was behind the canopy you had a chance to slalom around the large patches, otherwise a frustrating halt and clear was necessary.

Solid windsurfable, it wouldnt last. Fun easy foiling 4.7, punchy wind, had good speed but not ripping like other day, so weird it s always different? Same w/ gybes, only 1 foiling today, few complete then splat downs, lotsa 3/4 round nasty bails. Better sessions w/waterstarts definitely, even uphauls are easier tho. Same woman winging, disappeared downwind, probably in Hornby now, no phone calls today. I was practicing foil pumping & bob n weave wave riding but it died :(

Well, what a difference a few sq cms make!
Despite a slow start ( wrong wing for the conditions, started on 5m, came in for the 6m), wind picked up a tiny amount, and off we went. Really fun wave rides - but yesterday, on the 1880 front foil was picking up tremendous amounts of weed- today, on the 1280, almost nothing.
Neighbor Mike the kiter also came out to play and giggles were heard.

Unexpected model upgrade & unexpectedly died off. After rigging up Jelly she aborted her 4.7 sesh drifting in :/ AJ on kite, me on 4.7 windfoil working for it, some woman learning on wing out, incessantly jabbering into her phone? omg was THAT annoying!! Here I am in the middle of the strait & have to listen to her shit! Unreal & hard to comprehend. Ruined zen foil. Wind then declined more, pumping on foil far from effortless so called it. Very, very, very frustrating!
While just enough for the 5m, and some reasonable swell building, SO much weedy bits clinging to the foil, had to stay powered up on a beam reach for most of it. Was able to eek out the odd little run, but not nearly as much as would be expected in those conditions. Stuck it out for an hour, before realizing the cursing was outnumbering the wahoos, and came in.

Two good hours lightly powered on the 4m. Just the right swell to practice some backwinding. Should have quit then but GbVoices convinced me for "Just one more". Super fun waves for a moment until fast 40s blew wings and kites back to shore. A CCG RIB with a larger Coastal Patrol Boat made the last run in the bay. Grateful to have them close by : )

On my way back in after a good session, did one jump wrong and the the kite inverted just off the rocks of clover. No hope to fly it again, so I punched out. Kit was thrashed on the rocks but I came out fine with just a Few cuts and scraps.
Just got the lines in tangled. Haven't checked damage to kite yet.

Sweet White Rock Sunset Session! 25 km in mostly short period swell and no weeds! The wind started at 17 kn gradually went up to 20+ in the middle and dropped back down a perfect 17 again in the end but was not gusty. On the water at 7pm until sunset at 830 pm. the only wing foil among a few kites and the local crew. :) Some longer period swell near the jetty.

Started out on the 4m and quickly found more kelp than dog shit at IV. Frustrated and the wind was ramping so came in to vent and rig down to 3m. Well that was something else. Started out with a not so epic session in lightish winds taken down by kelp constantly trying to make the 4m work. Not a lot of swell, and then.................... It went ballistic!!!!!!!!!!! Pumped the 2.5 and convinced Dan to come out again. Got up right away and then it kept pounding harder until I was thinking i needed a 2.0. Sort of a double session, 10 AM was at Nuefoil at their manufacturing shop at Langford Lake. Impressive shop with thousands of joysticks and pallets of stuff the parent company makes medical carts and all sorts of specialized equipment. They chose efoils as a good sports equipment niche to get into. Board I used was the second prototype they've built about 130 litres. Seemed pretty fun and a fraction of the cost of the established brands. I got standing and on foil after about 35 minutes.

Excellent session. The OR Tumbler is a great asset for low wind days. Bites and tracks upwind. the Crave is predictable, fast and good low end. Nice to make 100% of turns kiting as opposed to an endless variety of crash jibes learning to wingfoil.

First out in today's light winds and was lucky enough to get up with my big gear and small 6m. I found a patch just off Clover that had enough for me to jibe and carve. Joined a bit later by Gee with too small a wing and Poper who easily got up and foiling and jibing. Kelp is getting more plentiful. Came back out for a 2nd sesh after a short nap. Arrived to some OG's sitting on the wall watching not much happening. Only brought the Wing gear so had to 'Just Do It'. Decided to rig the 5.0m but surprise, you need a pump to inflate the Wing...ugh! Forgot my pump, does this happen often. Guess I'm not used to the Winging yet. Using my new 115 Quatro Wing Drifter with the G800 Front foil which is 1163cm2. Able to get up and foil after a min or so of schlogging out to the windline. Finicky winds -- glad that I stayed on my 5.5m for the whole session. So many kelp take downs. Not great on the gybes today, but feeling really good about the board. I'm still in awe of its take off abilities. Coming back onto the beach a wave caught my board and bumped the foil into my nose, which gave me a classic boxing-style cut and made me look pretty tough. Thanks to Bobson for the Timmy's napkins to stop the bleeding and also for wiping away my tears.
