Great evening session, a warm wind blowing all day. Had issue with my harness. The straps for the hook were letting loose, to the point that I was concerned that I would loose the harness. Not good on such a nice day.

A most excellent cruising session at Piper's in the warm late afternoon sunshine. Had the whole ocean to myself which was surprising as conditions were excellent. Fingers crossed we are spoiled with a couple more days of this week!

Wow the wind died off, too hot outside on coast, no windsurfing today :( but the foil saved the afternoon. Never really kicked in today, kiting sesh had the best of it but lighter wind making gybes on the windfoil was rewarding :) any misses were consistently close too.

On the 130L. Baby steps on the wing, 100% standing going both ways was good enough for me, short but confidence inspiring. Hate those frustrating leashes tho :( still can't turn the board, almost flipped the foil thru the wing, I'm sure not the last time :-/ but able to do starboard after yoga warmup was better!
got Jelly going on it too later, working on things, good slow progress, feeling no hurry

Rode over to Jericho and tried a board from Windsure. Used a 6.8 Ezzy RAF sail on a wide spoon nosed long board. Under powered but it was such a nice night, and the staff & instructors and sailors were friendly . Followed the dingies around part of the course for Tuesday night racing and enjoyed a beer & sailing talk with Frederick B. Evening breeze was much better on that side. About 10 students and 5 Sailboards & 5 Wingers out on the water. Thanks again Windsure. Yes they rent gear i ... (more)

Overcoming demons kiting here, thx for the bridle intervention Adrian! Had a great session. Novel to be powered & actually ripping up wind, zipped to the river mouth three times and then had the joy of figuring out how to kite downwind, all news to me! Lol. Negotiating traffic was interesting when it got busier. Smooth transition, no board losses, landing a bit dicey, thx Jamie, didn't know about that knee!

Yellow-green on both models, gusting 24 on "Latest Reports", silver seas on webcam : ))
Got my wave report from the early shift. David M, 3.5m/780, was the right choice. Nice lines by the Hudsons. Less intensity in the afternoon, still adequate power on 3.5m. Longer runs on the 1080 for the second session. Nice!

So headed out on the 5.8 and the Firemove which was ok but not juiced to level I prefer. After 2 reaches I head in for a bigger sail. 6.5 Ezzy was what was perfect. Fun session and a bit of swell!

Went for a rip with Penticton Pope Sister Wendy and partner Adrian on Skaha Lake. They told me the wind never gets more than 20 knots this time of year so I didn't bring any of my tiny gear. Things started well but then a 35-40 knot squall ripped through for about 30 min that blew everyone off the water. Some sketchy moments for a few of the kiters. So nice to only be in a 2mm shorty and no kelp. The locals were all saying it was the windiest and waviest day they've ever seen at Kaleden!

A day at the beach!
Steep green walls in the morning, silver seas all afternoon:)) Combo of choice 3.5/ 780. A little wing broke free and escaped the bay. Vlad and Windjunky dispatched to the rescue. Great save before the ferry lanes :o

Launch into glassy swell mid-way up the bank. High tide and massive wind shadow at 7AM. Pinch upwind in a narrow band of wind near the shore, nothing on the outside. Work my way up as the band got narrower and closer to shore. Finally out of the shadow at Acadia and reach out to the last cargo ship. Some breaking waves off Acadia with glassy faces. Reach over to the North Arm and some nice long period swell there.
back in at 10AM. Awesome session!

Wasn't supposed to be here today but I sure am glad I was. Left for Nitnat yesterday around noon but a siezed right front brake stopped us half way from Port Alberni to Nitnat. Turned around to limp back but brakes were too hot and didn't want to risk more damage to the RV. Flagged down a couple a very nice ladies who offered to help us. Long story short they send a tow truck out about 4 hours later and we were dropping the van at our mechanic's shop around 7:30. Got a ride home and grabbed the work van to ... (more)

Caught the early shift at 8ish and got some decent light wind winging without too much pumping. Rigged big, but I could have gone with the 1050. Definitely felt draggy after riding my 1050 and 930 foils lately. There was some nice small swell on occasion that I was able to exploit. Kelp was ok with no takedowns. Good short sesh after missing out during the last couple of days. No crashes, no slogging, just a chill sesh in warm conditions. GPS failed today.

Waited for the wind to fill in to the beach, Got up on foil right away but soon realized there was a bubble off shore ( swell with no wind ripples) tried to make it upwind in the very narrow wind line but got caught in the kelp waited 20 min. and then swam in . Waited around for an hour as it started to looked really good on the outside. Gregcan shlogged out Windoc and Shaggy swam out but by the time it got really good had to go, next time I'm going after dinner.

Couldn't get there till 6:30. Dudes swimming in but wind at the point. Rigged big and walked to the point and swam out. Fun for 45 minutes then died so swam for the point against current. Almost in and wind came back so about faced. Weedy, currenty, funky wind and big swell but lined up some big ones til a hard fall popped my wing bladder, first time, resulting in my 3rd swim and 2nd long walk. Pumped up the 3.5 to join Tunacan as he was ripping it up in the swell close to shore, but then it died again. 9:0 ... (more)
