Rinse. Morning wind was pumping so started on 3.8/79 and then rerigged to 4.5/92. Both felt powered when in use and got a rinse! Fun session with decent swell and jumps! Great way to soften the transition home! Did some quick sight seeing before leaving town.

At Nexus - Feather Beach. Over an hour on the water really only meant 15minutes sail time. Several rig and fin issues and too small a board so I did jail tine thrashing around trying to uphaul and waterstart at the dead onshore beach and in the east harbour area. Would of taken Long Board into blind channel instead if I had it with me. Rough Sailor count 4 Windsurfers 2 -4 windfoilers , 20 kites (off spit) and 30 or more foilers out so lots of activity given it was a cloudy day. Met up with old mate ... (more)

Great day at the lake, wind was already going when we arrived at 11. Really love my new 55L Roberts board, great on releasing and on any touch downs. Rode the 4m and 775 for the first 2.5 hours and hit my daily goal of going over 40kmh one the first speed run I tried, amazing how fast the small wing and 325 stab is. Fun day with Machine, finished up with a rinse in the river and dinner cooked on the gas fireplace due to forgetting the stove at home. Gotta get Machine starting logs!

A sort of fun day at Clover, with the wind up and down. I pumped my biggest kite and took my biggest board (my Tiki) and thought it was going to be great because I had lots of power to start. But after 20 minutes or so, the wind lulled to the point that I felt lucky to get back to the Clover Point lawn. I hung out with Simon for half an hour waiting for the wind to come back. I was delighted that my son and his girlfriend showed as I was waiting for wind, we had a nice chat. The wind did return and I w ... (more)

Never a good sign when you're arriving just as Danno, Tugboat, and NewGrant are leaving with not much positive to pass on. But, I needed a quick foil hit, I'm a bit delusional, and Danno said I could do it. Happily, he was right. I got lift just as I was leaving the bay and I got a few worked runs. It was ridiculously light, but it was nice and warm and there was a bit of swell that helped with jibes. I quit when it seemed to be reducing and my strength was definitely waning. RDog wisely stayed in the batte ... (more)

Light on the inside but good wind and swells on the outside. Still trying to figure out the new foil fast off the wind and on waves, think I'm going to move the mast up and maybe another shim. Headed in to pump up the 3.0, but once I was in decided to call it! Great week of wind and waves!

Early sesh with Lancer, Danno, and Gee did not start well as Lancer came back in due to low wind. Rigged big foil and 6m and took the shot. Lucky to catch a gust that got me up and help get out firther to the wind line. Just enough out by Clover with confused swell. Actually seemed to drop further out. Played in the wind patch with the OGs and nearly took some of them out. Really warm, and much less kelp and crap. Clover windhole was quite pronounced yet some of the biggest swells were there.

Tried to go out when I got there as everyone was out foiling but just as I hit the water it died off, floated around a bit with BWD hoping it would pick back up. Paddled back in and waited with the crew on the beach. ( forgot my bigger foil at home) Finally there seamed to be enough although it was a long haul out to the windline. Wind picked up and made some nice swell and jump ramps.

Sat on the beach with my son Jesse at L. listening to an amazing guy playing acoustic guitar and singing and just taking it all in post surf. The wind was building but I was pooched from morning surf. Then jesse started slaying some beauty south swell action and I couldn't stand it any longer. Rigged and got a few smacks but should have gone out an hour earlier.

The stronger wind came in late, good thing I got there early. Fun long swell sections on the outside and steep waves off the point. Worth the wait. Empty too, where did everyone go?

I was the only kite setting up and had a nice chat with a fellow kiter named Simon who was playing with his kids. There was another father there with three kids (near the red recliner chairs) about 40 feet upwind of my kite and when I was walking back to my self-launch leash and control bar, I look back at my kite bobbing on its kite edge. What I saw was a 5 year old girl running to my kite, climbing between my lines and then lying down on the canopy at the kite edge like it was a hammock or something. I ... (more)

Cruisy RB explore-sesh in the sunshine. It was really light to start but eventually filled in. The waves were a bit confused but bigger than expected. I switched back to the 70 cm fuse for this session and definitely found it was less advantageous for wave riding and kelp dodging, although the added pitch stability is nice. I think I'll switch it back to the 60.

Kids played in the lake all day then the wind turned on at 2pm. Rigged the 5.5 and 1099 and headed out. Wind was shifty between W and SW and gusty AF but it got better as it built. Rode some boatwakes and ventured over to the south side of the lake. Awesome riding in board shorts and bare feet.

Epic day. Blue bird, filled in by 10. Started foiling on an 8m and was totally overpowered after an hour so switched to twin tip. Not quite enough wind for 8m so had some lunch and went back out on a 10m for an excellent, fully powered session.

Session 2 of 2 today. Garmin stopped recording part way through. Had a lot of fun playing in the waves just above the river. Surprising how much the wind line changes just above it!

Session 1 of 2 today. Great session with strong wind and the best swell so far of the trip. Surprising as I didn't expect much based on the lowish gradient.
