Forced myself to have another go on the parawing despite epic looking winging conditions. Ended up being the best session yet for me on the PW! Every DW run was successful and most redeploys worked out. Wind was at the max for the 4m, but I was able to manage ok. Had to sit down on one tack to wait out a big gust before launching again. The 960 feels perfect for easy launches and fun DW turns. It loves the slower speed of the RB swell and is easy to grave dig back up. Tried a second session but the PW had ... (more)

Ross Bay in the sunshine! Great consistent wind. Nicely powered on the 4m most of the time to over powered at times. Landed 2 360's in a row for the first attempts of 2025 and then could not get another to finish the session after a few attempts. Super fun out there today! Hands were still freezing when I came in. Few more weeks and it might actually feel warm again.

I was thinking who are these new guys rippin' on wings. RichardM, RhysM came from the nether swells for a foil scrimmage. Then this guy in dayglo started ripping up the swells. I thought wow! Well, 5 years into this sport and still having fun! Have to appreciate the ability to check real time conditions (thanks to BWD and friends)! and have a very good chance of getting some fun waves so close to home. Lots of junk in the water but good power on the 4 in the mixed up swell. Great start to spring break and nice to see the sunshine.

Arrived to a full Goat Hill parking lot....except 1 spot 1/2 way down....SWEET!! It wasn't RockStar but I was late to the party so I expected it. It looked like 15-20kts with lots of swell going thru the middle. Rigged the 4.5m Sailworks Flyer at 50% power. Another day at the terminal. Wind was lighter today but way more consistent. Wasn't thinking it would be anything more that a light wind felt water session but the wind and waves really picked up nicely, especially up between the mile marker and the terminal. On bigger gear today, the WR980 is an amazing light wind wing, so easy to get going and great glide. It made for some nice long waves rides in the waist high swell.

Really had to work for it today. Weird foiling in RB on a SE. It was very up and down, not enough and then lots. Left at the end before the crazy downpour arrived. Home for Ice Cold Corona. I need more! Just a bit sad that no one else wanted to come out and play.

A tale of two sessions. First session was a hi-powered 4m, excitement fest with lots of wind and swell and great folks to share the water with. Pretty warm too. Took a break and by the time I got back out it was quite marginal, even with the big wing. There was still medium swell, but the wind to power you through them had reduced substantially. Battle from the start. In order to try Dannos new (to him) TC50 fuse, i had to take my 60 off, which i have never done in 2 years. A little log bashing and we got it off. Then the 50 wouldnt right, so about an hour of messing around in the rain, but we got it sorted eventfully. Wind came up, and I made the wrong call with the 3m, making life difficult. Anyways, If i cant get the 50 off tomorrow, might have to try it again monday! Thanks eithe way idefix.

Big turn out at the terminal today. It was surprisingly cold though, winter is back. Wind was squally, waves were choppy and there were lots of weeds. Big squall near then end brought some nice swell, so it wasn't all bad. Caught a few nice rides before it passed and the wind died, again.

Fun swell and good crew bla bla bla. The best part was pre-session watching Danno and Tuna do a quick fuse swap. They were like a well tuned F1 pit-crew, but where one of the guys catches on fire and no can see the flames so it looks like he is just dancing, so they all laugh. Just like that.

Jesse and I owned the place for most of the session. Where was everyone?? Some really nice swell for cruising down wind. Break water had the best swell; shoulder high, smooth,but slightly infested with massive sea lion pimps and their bitches (I'm no marine biologist, but I'm pretty sure I'm using correct scientific nomenclature). ULR is the greatest! Anyways, today hit 1000kms travelled so far this year!! Aiming for 8000+ this year. Ok, Arrived early after checking Willows which had 6kts. Saw an update of 10-12kts from GBV at RB so headed there. Arrived to 13-16kts and GBV was heading out and foiled immediately. I rigged the 4.5m and was salivating to get out. 5 mins later it was 8-12kts. ULR So rigged the 6.0m to be safe and by the time I finished rigging the 6.0m, it was back to 10-15kts. Wasn't inspired when I arrived. Rain and light winds. Put the suit on anyway and by pump up time it was 3-4m weather. Swells built up really nice in the SW. stellar!

A bit of a W component, so took swell longer to build, so coming in mid session to warm the hands less of an ordeal.
Neighbor Mike the kiter gave the spit fishbowl a rest and came out to play in the waves.
Really should have been on the 4m, but was having too much fun to bother making the switch.

Took the afternoon off to enjoy some Easterlies. Went to CP but too offshore at 1st boatramp, too direct onshore at 2nd boatramp so headed to Willows and wind direction was just right. Rigged up a mostly flat 6.0m as there was 10-14kts and it was looking so sweet!! Got out and the wind had lessened down to 8-10kts. Looked like some more out by Cattle Pt so headed that way. Decent wind and water looked pretty flat except further out by the golf course. Lots of reflected waves made for some fun slosh and the odd rogue shoulder high slide. New-to-me art pro 951 foil is nice! Low end is similar to the 899.
