Made some foil adjustments to get more front foot pressure. Session started out great -- nicely powered, foil feeling stable and some nice swells to gybe on. Then it appeared to be dropping fast so I started sailing in. Before long it was almost dead calm, even backwinding my sail. Luckily made it a good way in but I gave up trying to sail and swam in like the rest of the wingers. This seems to happen more often than I like at Ross.

A great sunset session with a great crew on the water, thanks to Brett with the help on the beach. Decided to stay on the upwind side of clover today;) As the sun was going down the temp started to drop and it got a bit chilly out, but regardless a fun time

Nice night with a good crew. Light to start but picked up nicely. The waves were very steep and breaking randomly-might have been the low tide. Stayed out until it got dark and the wind chill started to take a toll.

Showed up and it was sunny and decent 15kts W. Pumped up 5m did one tack out there and the wind pretty much went to zero. Sat around with Jack for 10 mins waiting before starting to swim... eventually I caught a gust and made my way in. Wind came back up, so I went out with Rupp Dog and John A and it was great for a 30 mins sunset session.

Good fun while it lasted with nice steep little waves to play on. The big gear was working well. Then the crowd showed up and sucked up the remaining wind and it dropped to 0. Long swim in and it felt like I wasn't getting any closer. Every time I closed my eyes I'd lose sight of land and panic a bit. Once I stopped doing that it was okay and made finally made it to shore after 10min. Then Tunacan says "nice forecasts a**hole", so I left.

Arrived at the end of the rain shower. Bobson was rippin around on his 4.5 sail. I pumped a 5m wing since I wanted to play with mast position on my W1100 front wing which I have hardly used in the last year. I tried it the other day and could hardly ride it.
The wind was very light at first, then it picked up nicely. I was still having some difficulty with the W1100, so I went to the beach for my smaller foil. Changed the foil and looked up to see all the wings and one wind-foil in the water. First time ... (more)

Straight to RB after work. Arrived to 15kt gusts coming through. Some clown in a huge van almost hit me, then we chatted for awhile about what size we should rig/blow up. I started thinking 5.2m then it felt like it was picking up so rigged 4.5m Flyer. Headed out and had to schlog for a couple mins to get to the wind then all was good till I went too far out and the wind was less out there. Schlogged back to the point and it was on again. Pipers NW winds are back!
Favorable forecast on both models with 20kts at Entrance Island. It's a go! 10:30 sunny skies, silver seas, the old pine humming 20kts. 4.0 on 1250cm was the right combo for me. No sail change required today, just a consistent side-on. Good swell lines north of Clark Rk.
No Kelp, no shore breaks. No problem.

Tempermental offshore wind.
11:00 Ross Bay looked cold and gnarley, opted for a warmer Willows session with friendly locals, Gautam, H-Rock, MtnarG, Greg, Paul and Lance, all sailors trying to get a read on the wind. Split decision between sailing OP or UP. Lots of sail changes but sunny skies and warm wind made for a fun session.
Thank you H-Rock for the post-session refreshments.

Firstly a huge thanks to Greg (Surfskiguy) that dragged my ass in for over 1hr from outer Clover Pt to Gonzales Beach. Winds were terribly fickle today with Danno going 4mX3 and others going 5m. Me and MtnarG went big 6m, of course. It was great when the winds dropped to 10-15. It was less awesome in the frequent 25kt gusts. Foiled on the edge for a bit, but the winds seemed to be building even bigger so I followed the convoy back to the beach to switch to smaller wings. Danno was going 3m, while I was going 4 or 5. But, by the time I was ready to head in again, the winds stopped its craziness and made my 6mX3 the best choi ... (more)

Watched the cams all day jealously. Straight to CP after work and it was still 20kts gusts, Sweet! Got out in record time and foiling right off the bat! Caught the last hour of it, pretty gusty but gusts lasted a long time and holes were quick. Probably tried to do 10 mins too much as a bit of schlog right at the end. Hoping for a repeat tomorrow apres work.

Drove to WREB on a lark with a meh forecast but clearing blue sky following me from Vancouver.
Chalmers kiting and SixLine Winging (hey man!) provided proof of concept on the falling tide.
Remarkably windier up higher into the Bay close to the Border marker and fun little waves in the sunshine. Came in when parking expired but looked so good, payed up for another hour and went to play some more.
Six kites out enjoying the sunshine. Fun!

There was virtually no wind, interrupted by huge gusts. Offshore wind and flat sea. I had trouble staying upwind because there either wasn't enough wind, or I was grossly overpowered on the 6m. Smaller wing would have been the answer. For the record: I wasn't doing the 'walk of shame', I was just 'manually repositioning my board.' Good time with the WBFC gang.

Pretty good timing. Was very shifty wind WSW to WNW but settled into WNW. Then began coming in waves.
Uploaded GPS track but not sure how to link these two together, yet.
Was heading in when I saw another Winger upwind of me! Decided to stay out to say hi despite wind dropping but wind really dropped. Came back and dropped again, so went in. Realized the other Winger must have launched from Ardmore anyways. Bad timing for them!

Second session of the day!! SE wind dropped and turned west at sunset, I got in short sunset sail in my gear which was still dripping from willows.
Nice to rinse the sand off & first time ever (i think) for me getting on an easterly and a westerly in the same day!

Unsettled. Took the second shift to try and hit the peak of the wind. On the plus side it was second day in a row, it was warm and there were waves (rolling wind swell) on the edge of the second bank. On the down side it was a long walk (six one-way trips for me back and forth), gear selection was a guessing game and rigfest, wind felt like sailing rain squalls ' up, down, punchy, gone, the forecast was hype and the big blast didn't show up. First world problems. Practice in being present and makin ... (more)

Went for a short one as I had to get back and help with the turkey. Fun session chasing Bobson around , not a lot of swell to ride on but was still fun doing speed runs with a few kiters out. Everyone showing up as I was leaving.

Fun session!
13:00 full parking lot at the Tea House. Strong start, felt like 20kts onshore. Kiters were getting good air time, Bobson and Windjunky sailing the horizon in white caps. I really wanted to try the new Cab 3.0 but should have listened to Greg and rigged bigger. Few flights and schlogged back in for a 5m. Lots of wings on the bay, H-Rock, Paul and Gautam joining the afternoon shift.
Some sunny breaks and no mitts today!

Missed the OB hotel tea party earlier in the day with Tweezer, John, Brett, but caught the Ross Bay Rebound! John managed to get session #2 with myself, BWD, WIndoc and Local RB Hoodlum (ryan). Some really nice swell rides, easy 4.0 conditions and sunshine at the end!

I missed all the morning wildness due to some rabbit-based holiday. I was only able to sample some of the dying sweetness as the winds died off. The 5m got me up, but way too much pump work for old people. I should have pulled out the 6mX3 as was my initial thought. Had some exciting close encounters with a couple of the kiters. No biggie. Looking forward to some Tuesday winds.

Westerly finally showed up after 5pm. RBL was just getting on it when I arrived. Looked 5m, went out and immediately was OP'd on outside. Before heading back in for the 3M, launched a few hops strapped in. Ginxu feels great in the air! Went in for 3M, got a few more hops before wind backed to 4M. Went in for the 4M and back out for more bunny hops. Wonder if I have the guts to start trying aerial 360s? Maybe! Surprisingly good swell. Great Easter session!
