On the water at 830. Was thinking of heading up to CB but had limited time. The wind filled in nice and was again very consistent. Great to sail early in the morning after the first coffee. Rigged the 5.2 Flyer and was fully powered, starting to get the feel of the foil on downwind runs, still working on the jibes. Made a run out to Five Finger and glad the wind didn't die off like last time.

13:00 assessing wind data with MGusto for an hour before suiting up. Highrocker and MtnarG joining in on the wait. MtnarG unboxing a formidable 8m wing. Put in with the 6m in 12kts. It built up to a consistent 15kts. Played the swell at the point for an hour until a mid-afternoon lull. I joined Bobson, Leddy and MGusto for the late afternoon shift.

It was light so it was going to be foiling day, haven't been on the foil for a while so good to get back at it. Overall it was fun and shared the water with Davey_k for a bit then ended up solo for a while. Still learning lots with some wacky wipeouts and inhaling some of that delicious clover water 'puke face emoji'. Thanks to Davey_k for helping with my kite as it decided to go for a dip during a lull just as I was about to get out of the water.

Cajoled by j_dog, to come and give it a whirl. Marginal conditions but I gave it a go. Could not really make any upwind so I would walk towards the spiral staircase, get up on the Tiki and have to drop in just before the reef at Clover. Then head back in the other direction until I came ashore, then walk towards the spiral staircase again. Did that 6 or 8 times and then called it a day. Arrived afterwork to 4 Wangs schlogging in, not good. Waited and chatted to MtnarG, Highrocker, Danno and GUStastic in beautiful sunshine. A couple of 10kt gusts came through so rigged the 6.0m Flyer FR as Sammy and his OR bros showed up and rigged on the sidewalk. So I followed The Junkman out. He was up on the foil quickly, I had to schlog out to the wind for about 3-4 mins. Oh well! Pretty light overall but some 12-13kt gusts to get and keep going. Great flat water session. Rigged the brand new 8m Strike CWC. This will never be my favourite wing, but it will certainly be a session saver. It is a bit of a beast when the wind is over 15kts. I'm already looking forward to those light westerlies at Ross bay next summer.
3 other wings out. They all seemed happy on 6m wings.

Well that was crazy! I arrived at 7:30 just as the wind dropped to 20 knots. I figured it was dying so I rigged the 5M wing, wrong, when I hit the water it cranked back up to 30 knots! What a beat down! The waves were huge and I really snuggled to water start, and once going it was like trying to punch out of a mile of shore break, it was ramp city out there. Tried moving the back footstrap up to riding position vs just behind my back foot for jumping only. Was nice not to have to wiggle and bobble my back foot in a strap way behind the mast to go for a jump, but felt off the rest of the time. Did not find having the back foot in a strap gave any more carving control. Will move the strap back to launch mode going forward. Side Onshore, wind and waves!
13:00 arrived to 10-12kts at the shoreline so rigged BIG. The wind line some 400m out delivered 15-18kts. I reduced sail and foil and rode comfortably for an hour in 2-4' swell. It ramped up again mid-afternoon gusting to 25. The swell got larger with the falling tide, more organized with a reasonable period. I dropped another meter of sail to finish the afternoon on the 4m and 1200cm.

94/5.0 combo out of the gate. Porks with his best forward to date, tandem backies with me came up short but fun. UP then OP winds, overall pretty solid. Endless quiver Hiho & AJ on it late, Eastside scoring another. Lowest tide in a while, only 2ft over the bar, been a long time it seems!
Fun enough session but I lacked stoke, mighta been my freezing feet & earlier re-pack to use the Tacoma :@ to get to the beach. grumble grumble

Light wind forecast but surprised by the strength and steadiness. Was getting comfortable on the 1500R, so rigged the 1650cm front foil with the 6m wing..
Launched 1030 and the first hour was perfect, just a pump and on foil, the second hour was powered up and over-powered at times on the wing, but wasn't over-foiling, so ok. Found the 1650cm2 wing to be fast and more sensitive to fore and aft weight, almost like putting on a shorter fuse. A handful of locals out.

Got about an hour and a half today. Wind was light with big holes and it felt like it was going to shut off at any minute. Tide was high so I could launch right off the beach, but lots of debris near shore. Once outside it was OK but you still had to be on the lookout. My legs felt like jello the first 30 minutes and I felt like I was back to square one, couldn't even make a jibe. I soon realized that it was because there was no wind! Went back for the 4.2m and it was a good choice, yet was under powered at times. Gusty wind at 930 launch and it picked up at 1030 when I came in to put up the 5m , so went back out on the 4.2m. Once it backed off, nothing worked, so putting up the 5m and slogging out was not helpful.
Bonus, no rain!

Arrived early but very little wind. Slight breeze from the NE. Looked like it would pick up when a good solid gust came through. Floated around with the 6m for about an hour and it finally started to happen. Got a few runs in as it picked up and started to switch East. Switched to the 4m and a smaller front wing. Had the best session so far this year.

Really about as good as it gets. Glassy, Side-off and impossible to get off the beach for most, first on it and had it to myself for a long while looking back at a lot of people swimming near the beach trying to get out. Eventually the near shore gusts picked up and the crowd turned to pure mayhem, with only one day of wind in awhile and all the wings moving around the waves with no rhyme or reason. Good times.

Yowzer!! That was fun! Big wind, huge swell. Had some of my biggest waves ever on wing, and a couple of really nice rides. Loads of fun with Winddoc, then Tweezer joined us. Despite there being tons of room, i still managed to almost collide/touch wings with Mark after a jibe (Starboard! :) ) It was really windy! Once again had to go in and move my foil back to give me some control (almost at the back of tracks!). Forgot to start the gps, so a shortened track.

Nice surprise!
13:00 Arrived at willows with four other hopefuls rigging 6.0s. We got 8knts for an hour then it picked up as promised. All rushed in to drop meters of sail. Back out on 4m and 1250cm until the beach lanterns came on. Good crowd, a dozen wings, Bobson and a kite.
Warm hands, wind and swell for all. Perfect!

While you guys deal with the awful shore breaks there, I just had the gentlest entry to date. The choppy swell was still out there; one day I will flagging out and riding it. For now, constantly adjusting but still looking for that 'aha' moment on jibing as opposed to the sporadic, successful turn.

After a couple hours waiting at Cattle, watching Bobson mostly slog, then i saw wings over at Willows and thought I should be sociable. Chatted for a half hour watching occasional puffs then it turned on. Took the big board to make starts easier. Arms burning with gloves and sheeting in to go upwind. Going beam or broad was such a relief! Not much luck on the gybes. One I managed to stay dry on but I taxied around most of it. Drove by Willows an hour earlier to see 4 wings out. Some big froth way out off the golf course. I thought nah - too tired. Ping. Wingdoc and ULR texted - Clover is on! Creaked into my suit and drove down. Splatted quite often for the first half, then started to get the rhythm. The waves also shrank but came back again shifted left at the end. I thought there wasn't any wind this weekend!
