I noticed RDog carving on the RB webcam so I rushed on down. Felt chilly and lightly promising during set-up. The Twiz was going out just ahead of me. I was fortunate to catch an early gust and got out to about point level where the winds were stronger. Got some nice carving runs downwind, but just not enough wind for the minimally skilled, like me, to do any flagging. Very marginal to start - i probably wouldn't have gone out so soon, but seeing neighbor Mike on the kite got the competition going - what i neglected to take into account, was he had a 10,000m2 kite ( well, technically 10m, but might as well have been).

Was on my way to CC to meet sister who's learning to foil and decided to take the 'back' route through Youbou on the off chance that Cowichan Lake might be happening. It's outstanding when it does but been difficult to know with certainty when it will. Was passing Little Shaw Camp near top of lake when I saw the right direction developing. With distinct swell lines on the RB cam and positive reports from the OGs I made a late run down the Malahat. Only caught the tail end of it but it was worth the trip. Warm winds and smoothies in the bay. Sailed into the evening till I couldn't see debris. I called it after too many strikes.

Another great day wind picked up early and really started cranking around 230 making for some nice smallish swell so put on the rear strap and practiced some jumping. Lots of fun but still haven't quite figured out the landings.

Fog! 110/5.7 bit much, 5.0 small board wouldve done it:finally decent wind! even some uncharacteristic swells in the channel, didnt turn bone jarring til lateron where I was making that board go twice its design speed. Quit while ahead, too late for my knees/neck tho lol beer, outta here, nice sunny day!

Really fun and unexpected session. Lots of S in the wind gave some nice steep and smooth swell that was rideable in close. Lots of crap in the water and glare added to the fun. Small crowd out.

Wind looked like it was finally doing its thing at RB around 5:30. Got there and peeps coming in for smaller wings, went with the 4m. BWD, Rupdog, Ang, Idefix, and a handful of others present for the fun and sun. An easy session a bit on the light side at times. Some unusually large smooth groomed wind swell with a lot of south pushing it close in to the beach near parking spot. Lots of fun inside with the swell. Post tropical storm Debbie working through the maritimes, unfortunately brought some fog and rain with the wind. Getting use to clearing the sandbar at med-tide heading out. Had some gentle rollers off the point break but didn't really explore too much as the fog was about 50m visibility. A few kiters out on 12m and 14m.

Surprisingly good late session with workable winds and nicely accommodating swell that you could ride almost to the beach. Great vibe and warm winds. Lots of OGs showing markedly improved foiling skill. The main downside was the late sun visibility for the increased kelp clumps. Very hard to see them in the low sun and had quite a few takedowns. Always great to watch the elite riders flaggin out with style. One of my most fun sessions this year. Thanks to GregCan abd Idefix for post swell bevys.

Down to the Goon (thanks Highrocker for the alias) which was glass when I arrived but a windline filled SW as I parked. Got going on the 5 with some moderate pumping, then it got light. At end it switched to NW gusty. Some gusts over 20 knots but then back to gusts of 14 with nothing between. Gave up to have dinner. Kelp rafts infested the tidelines. My first day at Nitinat this year. This was one of two sessions. Session one focused on working on things on the Ginxu. Can't say there are that many bugs to work out. Time to get it out in RB's best "...maybe?, no, maybe yes? no, possibly?" summer conditions. Quick trial session and wind started to pick up so went back in for something to eat before big afternoon sess. Nitinat is so easy

On the water on the Windfoil at 11:30am after hamburger, hashbrown and 2 eggs. Went up the most almost to MacTush in just over 30 mins then wind got holey so I turned around and played in the waves on the way back. Put in 50kms on that trip. Came in for lunch and a relax on the beach while others played. Back out on the 4.5m and Windfoil as my hands are still to sore to Wing, even with the harness. Last day and wanted to get home so had a early and short session on my Tiki before heading home. It was perfect wind and water conditions for the Tiki and it is such a joy to ride it in light wind conditions. Dave C. joined me on his Duke. I practiced tack turns and made a few. Weather was changing and the wind was not nearly as strong today as the previous two days. Still fantastic and I am always grateful to go to Nitinat.

Another turquoise water day. Had two sessions today with the first being the longer of the two. Went way down the lake with Dave C. looking for swell to ride and then way upwind to do the same. Came in for a break and then out again for a shorter session again just riding swell where I could find it. Mellow evening walk and a bit of stargazing but it was cooler than the previous evening.

On the water at noon after a yummy hamburger, hashbrown and 2 egg breaky! 12-17kts for an hour and a half on the 6.0m and the best thing god ever created'. A Wing Harness!!! Yup, put on a harness today and it was a game changer!! Going upwind is easy peasy lemon squeaky!! Wish I had tried one a few days ago before my hands were shredded.
