Up to the lake with Dave C. for three days of water fun. Arrived mid-afternoon and did one long session. Lots of wind and I spent the whole time riding swell until my legs were ready to fall off. Watched the sunset behind the mountain and some stargazing later that night. I had leftover pizza for supper and was as happy as Larry. Great first day.

One of the sweetest wind I ever encountered on the lake. A consistent strong breeze lasting until the sun set behind the mountains. Great session, nailed every jibe. Time to take the straps off.
Just had an awesome session, really like the board, like the way it acts' Did some nice surfing on the little waves we had. Lots of toe side time.

Three for three awesome days at Nitinaht. Each day there were perfect winds for 4m hand wing and 1225 front wing. First 40km+ day. Ventured past the island and into what felt like thar-be-dragons territory. Not where I should be for gybing, but hey I had fun. Looking forward to a warm shower!

Decided my hands were too sore to continue with the Wing so pulled out the trusty Windfoil and my biggest sail here is my 4.5m so made that work for an hour with lots of pumpy-pump! Pretty light winds today as it was smoking hot! It was fun ripping at high speed again, the Wing is pretty slow. Actually, I'm pretty slow at Winging. Ha! Got in almost 30kms which was a nice way to end the day!

On the water at 12:20 in 8-10kts. Practice my Wing-schlog for 30 mins then wind picked up to 10-15kts. The 6.0m is rough on the hands trying to head upwind. The bad thing about not crashing as much is that my hands don't get a rest. Time for a harness I'm guessing. Pretty fun flat water paradise. There are some waves out n the channel or in the tide line but mostly flat so good for jibe practice and toe-side riding. On the water at 12:30pm in n less than 10kts. I could see it coming down the inlet and water to practice what I'd do if the wind shut off. Schlogged out to a big hole of nothingness and layer down on my board and paddled with Wing under my feet. Worked well. Got up and was able to schlog/ balance in almost nothing. Test completed! Arrived in the afternoon, set up camp with Oz and Gene and headed out for the evening session on the big gear. Was lit right up and was wishing for the small stuff once beyond the epic wind shadow. Big Gear felt like shit as per usual but was fun dusting off some cobwerbs and taking in the atmosphere. Epic 300 m. Insta wind shadow swim at the end. Had to eventually turn the harness around backwards and lay on the board prone using the surf paddling muscles to bring me home.

I went out with biggest gear to join Idefix who was up and down off foil, just as BWD was ending his session. Not very promising. Not enough in the bay to get up. Farther out I got lucky with a gust and was able to get up for a while and intermittently after that. It was much too much work to stay foiling so I headed in, just as RDog was heading out. His commitment inspired me to try again and actually got a good half hour of fun powered foiling before I just ran out of gas from the earlier work.

Awesome start to three days at Nitinaht. First barefoot session ever. Lots of fun racing my kitesurfer sister Wendy and partner Adrian. Circumnavigated the island a la Tweezer, then was shocked when all the sudden Mark appeared out of nowhere to come say hi. Is this the Nitinaht magic people speak of? ULR also at the Nat ' I'd recognize the gold helmet anywhere. I think I improved on some of my stats for the BWD leaderboard today. Tomorrow: gybefest.

Couldn't get there till 6:30. Amost didn't go but saw Rupp on the cam and forecast didn't look good for rest of the week. Rocked up to 12 knots and some shady looking dudes drinking beer. Fun session with steady wind. Met another Dave, pole skipper. Lots of weed action with quite a few takedowns.

Fun at first with small steep waves and perfect 3.5 conditions (14 knots). It dropped after about 40mins of fun. Sat in the water for a while waiting for it to come back but it did not. It looked to be getting windier when I left.

Up at 8am for coffee and Eggs, bacon and hash browns. Delicious!! On the water at Noon in 15kts, lasted an 2 hours and 40kms and then it ramped up so came in and grabbed lunch and sat and watched the rest for an hour then pumped up the 4.0m and headed out in strong conditions, that's the 20-25kts. It was wavy and windy, more 25 than 20. Really getting the hang of the Wing-Thing! Made it an hour without a crash. Finally had to call it a day at lifter 80kms as my hands were raw! wind not as good as it looked on cam, and too much kelp. Sucks to work hard pumping and just pop up to suddenly go over the handlebars. THe usual, close on gybes, front foot looked centred but not enough toe pressure to carve through downwind.Blisters from day before on top of toes from sand in water shoes got worse, reaLized open sores and a high coliform content were not good combo. Painful after my session, hunted down some polysporin cream.
