A lot of waiting around for the forecast 'gale'. Struggled to get and stay foiling at first so I came in and waited a bit. Eventually saw the wing-sloggers blasting upwind nicely so went out for a more fun round two. Over powered at times on the 5.2 but feels better than struggling to find enough wind. Not overly exciting but nice to get out after being away and days of waiting for wind.

I've learned that strong winds are more certain towards end of day here. Regardless, I wanted to get home before 8pm so pushed for a noon session after packing up camp. Winds were more civilized and that was cool too. I started trying to push myself on things I really suck at. Sam has inspired to push my pump and glide capabilities. Also just took this session to calm down and work on style and flow. Great three days. THE way to push your performance.

A crashfest for me today as I tried to ride my Starboard inflatable, first time in 6mos. Definitely some skill and muscle memory fade as I crashed often and needd to relearn how to ride that board again. There was wind, but it was fickle and I was glad to have the big 6.2m Mantis. No forgiveness on touch downs, unlike my big JP Aus. A touch of the water would often result in crash, whereas with the hardboard it would just skm off and keep you on foil. I am a bit disappointed, could not ride upwind as much as I wanted. Not sure if it was the wind or me. I have the feeling it was me' Need more time on the water with my surfboard. The wind was also kind of 'lumpy'. Not a consistent strength, a bit all over.

Pretty light so opted for the 60L and the airbus that is the 1201. So much glide I could break out a granola bar on the gybes. Felt like it picked up so switched to the 39L. Practiced heineken gybes a bit because I got bored with no swell. Good summer day with sunshine and peeps.

Went through all kinds of gear today. Started out with the 7.5 on the 120L, didn't want to wait for it to ramp up. When it did, it came up fast. Soon as I had the 5.7 rigged, it was way to overpowered for what was out there. Rigged the 5.0, rode that for a bit on the 99 and hit a massive ramp unintentionally and put a hole right through the lower part of the sail. Great to be back at RB. Havent wung for almost two weeks which is a while for me. Was busy with work all day, so it was great to see some wind, sunshine, and lots of people out shredding! The OR 5m was feeling like it might be entering its final days - I would say 100 plus sessions on it tho, maybe more - so it doesnt owe me a thing. Easy conditions made for a fun end to BC day. On the water at 11 in 15-20,on my 4.5m headed up the inlet to the narrows where the wind turns off so headed back. Make it an hour then it ramped up to 25-30 so I put on my 3.9m Sailworks Flyer super flat. Still over powered but manageable. Hardly anyone out. Maybe 5 Wings and 5 kites and me. This session involved two adventures. First on the 4m was all about speed. Wind went from cranking to nuking. With 4m, I tried to push for highest down wave speeds I could get out of this gear. Wipe outs were epic. Everything still intact. 3m was inevitable. Swell was also awesome. Second session involved pure 3m upwinding to launch site for Sam to DW with a paddle. Greg, Alex and I supported. Learning a lot about both the zen of downwinding along with some of the challenges to overcome with practise,

First sail of the day that just got better until 8pm. Took the new Ginxu DW up-6 kms to get some time downwinding. Also wanted to check out how the trip would go as the plan was to downwind paddle down when things get windier. Conditions were great. This board is a break through.

Woke up to low cloud and cool temps. Egg on a burger for breaky. On the water at 11:30am with the 6.0m in 12-15kts which last 40 mins, then wind ramped up to 20kts for pumped up my new ish 4.0m. Compared to the 6.0m it feels so tiny and easy to hang on to. Without a harness the 6.0m is a bit of work!! Did 90 min long sessions and came in to rest the hand, eat, drink and apply sunscreen. 3/2 no sleeve all day.
