I'm going to log this for posterity points and the "giving it a good old college try"...whatever that may be. Arrived to a still potentially wingable session, quickly rigged up the 4m as everyone was coming off the water. It was supposed to die quickly and it did. A couple of flying reaches, one quick tail swap, then one flying outbound reach followed by a knee schlog back to the beach. Oh well next time.
