Well that was AMAZING!! Arrived to possibly 10 with some 13kt gusts coming through but looking like more was possible. Windoc and a couple others arrived as I had the 7.0m out and was beginning to rig it but it looked like it was gettting windier so I was going to rig the 5.2m as 'for sure' it was going to increase. If I did and it didn't increase it would be my fault so I took one for the team and stayed with the 7.0m. Just what he (Wind) Doctor ordered. I headed out with Mark A and we both foiled right away. So much fun foiling in 10-13kts on flat water. It began to pick up to 13-15kts so I came in to rig down to the 5.2m once I was fairly sure it was going to stay. Maybe 5 other Wangers showed up as I was rigging which actually took 3-4 minutes. I used the 95cm foil mast today and it's really great being able to stay that much highter and not having to worry about foiling out. Feels like a lot more than 10cms higher though. I headed back out but had to schlog wind line at end of the point and then it was on. 15-17kts perfect for the 5.2m. So looked solid everywhere so headed down to Trial Island as I saw a Winger and a Kite down there. Not sure who it was but they were friendly so said 'HI' and then started heading back upwind as it looked to be getting stronger maybe 20kts. It's a bit weird going upwind but still gybing to stay on the foil. Got back and there were Wangs everywhere so I tried to fit in and hope no one noticed that 'one of these things ain't like the others'. Well, it seemed to work and I didn't get 'run out of town' for being different. I think I counted 13 Wings at one point. There was some decent swell just off the point and down to the bottom of bay, did a couple of runs in past the bottom of the kelp bed and gybed in a gust near the beach. Wind started to ramp up a bit so I called it a session and headed home for a cold Corona and some Cheezies. Pretty great session with the whole crew out (except The Twizz). So much fun!!
