A decent breeze despite the forecast. 6.5m would have been best but was eager to try out the new 5m Direct Drive KT wing. The biggest stand-out quality was the drive/power at the hard upwind angle and speed. Pinching where I would normally be stalling with the Slick, seemed to be able to sheet this in nice and get good lift, nice upwind angles. Up and out of the bay in a few tacks.
Tempted fate outside the royal house where once again hit a lull and fell in a few times. No explosions though so got out of that hole and over to Ardmore, then fun downwind back into the bay and had some fun little waves to accelerate on. Would have been even nicer if it blew 20 for longer but gradually fell off.
No session I enjoy more than a good Westerly in Patricia Bay. Nice maiden voyage for the Jus D'orange.
