The thought of a nuking low tide windsurf session in Boundary Bay seemed like a great idea but in hindsight I should have waited for the tide to come in and went winging. Cranking when I arrived so rigged 3.7 and made the long walk out. First reach was lit, then as soon as I hit the waves it backed off. Nice waist high waves breaking everywhere, and with the ESE wind it felt like White Rock. But the wind was so fluky, also like White Rock, I could only get in half a reach planing if I was lucky. Every time I would head in I would get to the shallows and it was cranking, teasing me back out, and then once in the waves it was off. Had a few good washings in the break and got washed down wind by the current, which was extremely strong. I finally gave up and headed in, of course when I got back to the beach it started cranking again. Took a short break and headed back out. Again nicely powered off the beach but once outside in the waves it dropped. Current pushed me way down wind and it was a long slog and walk back to the boat launch. Sure enough looked at the webcam after I got home and saw Jerin having fun winging in the waves. Ouch.
