When are Columbia Beach & Nitinaht good for kiteboardng?

Post by AndyF »

Hey,

I live over in Vancouver and have just started kiteboarding up in Squamish, but as I’m over on the Island on a semi-regular basis, I was wondering what the kiting is like at Columbia Beach and Nitinaht?

Is the wind seasonal or all year round, and where is the best time during the day for it?
What size kite would I typically need (I'm about 165lb and 5' 11" and use a 9m one in Squamish)?

Cheers,

Andy

Nitnat has good, warm and steady midday winds right now up till sept. Columbia is gets big SE storms fall and winter but it does get NW in the summer too. 9m one should be good for nitnat most the time, maybe a bit much at columbia in storms.
