Pachena Bay Soulstice Party- this weekend

Post by ToesideT »

THE BROKEN GROUP plays a summer soulstice party this Saturday on Pachena Bay beach, near Bamfield- about an hour and a half up from Nitinat. Check out the poster in the gallery.

These guys are a fantastic live crew jamming out funk reggae, groovy soul and rock, and their partys draw a great crowd from Bamfield, the University science station and all over. Rasta-Pasta you would dig these guys- they do some great Sublime and Toots covers.

The Broken Group are legendary for high energy sets of originals and covers spurring the crowd on, dancing hard late into the night. Music starts around 8pm and you can camp right at Pachena.

If you havent been to Pachena, its a beautiful long sand beach a few minutes south of Bamfield where you can get a hotel room, booze and some food. You can get camping info here: http://huuayaht.org/

I am hoping to hit the lake Saturday afternoon( wind?) then head up for the night, go paddling in the morning in the bay looking for whales, then back to the Nat for the arvo session.

Celebrate the Soulstice in a memorbale way- come check out the vibe.
Oh Yeah ITS FREE.

'Broken Group' is the band? not the place, eh?

Can you stay there and kite around Bamfield/Pachena, or too many islands? Would you take the Pt Alberni road to Nitinat from there?

Sounds like a FUN way to spend the longest day of the year/first day of summer, which is also Father's Day this year 8)
Life is all about balance, and a dose of healthy wind addiction

Pachena would be fun if the wind came in ... It's towards Alberni from Nitinaht & then left .
