Weight&Kite Size @ Nitinat

Post by Teabag »

What kite size someone who weight 250 lbs should have for Nitinat Lake?

I am 180lbs and so far the best size I like at Nitinat is 10m. (sometimes 8m or 12m)

Is there any regular riders that weight 250 lbs? any idea if buying a 12m is totally useless? (he is a beginner but have lots of board sports experience)

He wanted to buy my 12m kite but I think 12m is too small for him to use at Nitinat, and I am not sure if it would be a good for him at island view this winter? Just don't want to sell to someone that might regret his/her purchase later on.

thanks for any info, Ian

10 or 12 should be the right size in the winter depending on board size.
then again I remember having a 16m best yarga in the winter on lighter days... then again Matt would have to pull me up the beach (floating in the air) when it got windier because I was too light to hold myself down...

Depending on the kite manufacturer and type of kite range would be from 10 - 16m. I weigh 240lbs and am on my Vegas 14m most of the time at nitinaht, before that my bronco 16m
