I will be carring a Spot Tracker that is normally used for the Swiftsure race. If you did sign up as a temporary YC member I'm sure you can book one out for this event. I have yet to pick mine up and test it but perhaps this wednesday I will try!

I will also be carrying a VHF & GPS and wearing PFD!

things are looking good so far for weather... now we just need people... as always it will be a last minute sign up!
I wanted to ask if anyone would be able to take photos near Race Rocks? a small hike into E. Sooke park and you'd be able to watch the fleet go by.. but would probably need a big lense.
also I'd like to car pool from Cook St.... I'd prefer to leave my car at Cook but could drive it to Sooke either in the afternoon or evening. I could pack up the roof surfboard rack thingy and take about 3 kiters.

I'll be taking some photos from the boat. I have a good lens.

Also, the baot we're taking is large enough to fit a few on it.

I'd say I can take 4 passengers + gear from the RVYC to gordons

I may be looking for a ride back to Sooke from Cook.
Any plans for a "burger" after?

The RVYC has excellent burgers...and they were nice enough to lend us an 18ft rescue boat.

Maybe go there?

Kudos to RVYC for the rescue boat. Most appreciated.
Will see how the "burger" thing develops.

I'm very interested, but have a potential conflict with Ned's Strapless clinic at the lake. hhhmmm. Huge downwinders are the bomb!

Last I saw you were already quite good at strapless. Are you teaching the clinic?

its a good problem to have when two cool events are running side by side!

was going to help Ned with explaining things. Like fast tacks and transition footwork.

Event confirmed for saturday

Sailing instructions:

Arrive at Gordons beach by 2:30 pm

Try not to pass the coach boat, and dont go more than 100 meters in front

One flag raised on coach boat means "Come within hail" IE, stay near the coach boat, I have something important to say

Two flags on coach boat followed by a sound signal means "Medical emergency go directly to safest landing spot on shore" this is only in an emergency situation.

PFDs will be provided for those that don't have their own. I can't force anyone to wear them, but they are strongly recommended.

LOGISTICS for rides (suggested)

martin drives from Sooke to RVYC, and leaves car at RVYC. Then rides in coach boat up to Sooke. Cook st crew drives up to gordons, sails back, and then car pools with martin on the way back?

hey Adrian. Did you drop you spot tracker on the freeway? It shows the location of Zigzag at the Tillicum and #1 Highway.

:( Looks like I'm working 12 hour shifts this weekend. Don't think I can make it now unless I can leave a little earlier than 2:30 (I start at work at 5)
