If i recall correctly, that swell was massive too with big winds. I recall wiffin spit being overhead that swell.

My GF's son was the last one to see and talk to those guys as they left the marina. I just checked. They were in 12 ft rec kayaks and yeah, there was big swell and some wind. Possibility of an orca attack: 1:1,000,000,000

About 20 years back on Gordon's Beach, I witnessed an orca beach itself and go after a dog. For about a minute the dog and orca were following each other down the beach...the dog barking at the orca and the orca belly sliding on the gravel. Pretty surreal.
