I'm hoping to do the Caddy Bay sup race on the 22nd and I'm supposed to drop my van in for the day in Portland on the 23rd...but I could bail on both of those and leave for the coast on Fri eve too if the wind looks good and there is south swell  I've got up to 3 weeks so I'm flexible and will adjust based on weather.

Glad my work schedule meshed with others plans. I have June 20 through July 6 blocked off and I will likely only take about half that and try and target 'good' weather! :D

ps Thanks to The Law for including the mainlanders in the call-out! 8)

If you need a free place to stay before catching the first Coho home, there is the new Walmart just east of Port Angeles that is open 24 hours and is OK with over-nighters. The washrooms are nice and there were about a dozen and a half RV's plus myself there last night.

Feels good to be home but I am f'n tired and sore. On the upside my accommodation costs for 16 nights totaled $43 which has to be some sort of record.

Gonna try June 26-July 6.
On the outside I can potentially stay as late as July 13.

Hope to get in a few refresher days in hood river before heading to the coast. Its been a long time since I've been on the water.

It may have warmed up a bit by next week, but the water temperature just off Pistol dropped to below 46F or 7.7C, for reference sake Neah Bay Buoy is currently reading 53F or 11.6C.... that is a huge difference and we already think JDF inshore is cold.

Moral of the story is it is a lot colder than most years I can remember due to a month straight of nuking wind. Hands and feet, even on windless SUP days, were reeling, most people had booties and some people were going as far as wearing gloves or mitts, especially in the morning before the sun really got going.

gonna sit this one out. the collarbone had healed up really well but 6 weeks post surgery the muscle strength and mobility are just not there yet, particularly in the arm raised waterstart position or for swimming. don't want to have a setback with a whole fun summer coming up. im going to instead stay home and work on my recovery with a plan to make a trip later in august, maybe hooking up with the gorge paddle challenge. snorkel down a blizzard for me guys! :P

Isn't that the pot calling the kettle black if I've ever seen one!  8)

Bummer Dave! Tofino surf trip instead? Forecast looks maybe not so great next week, so I am thinking of going there instead.

I'm delaying until next Thursday June 26. Heading to Hood River for Friday morning and sail if there is wind. Then head to the coast maybe via Bend OR with BWD.

Lets hope things turn around a bit!

Keen and I are making a break for Pistol/Cape tomorrow. Could be our only chance of coast sailing this time around, then I'm Gorge bound.
