Best ways to ship a windersurfer across the province? Any suggestions would be helpful. Dimensions are too big for Greyhound.

You might want to try a freight company like Canadian Freightways etc. They often have one way deliveries and return with an empty truck. They usually cut you a good deal if it's for the return portion. You should be able to haggle a bit too. Make sure you package the board well, get insurance, and get a quote from the shipper as it will often change.
The other option is to call a board shop and see who they ship with.

The larger moving companies are a good way to go. They have trucks going across the province/country all the time. A board is easy to put in their trucks as it doesn't take up much room and is light so can be put on top of other things. Just call up the moving companies in your town and they will know if they're parent companies have larger shipments going anytime in the near future. They are excellent as they are used to being very careful with furniture and delicate goods.

I received a board in Burnaby from the Okanagan a couple of years ago by Purolator. Worked out okay and it was cheap though the low shipping cost could have been due to the fact the board was shipped under a company's discount with the courier.

Purolator doesn't have size restrictions, and given that boards are pretty light that may be a way to go
