New to kiteboarding have most of my gear looking for some local lessons in Nanaimo and possbly someone else new to the sport looking for a kiteing buddy for the spring/summer,as i think i have scared most of my friends away from getting into kiteboading because its all i talk about they think im a geek,lol.Anyway im willing to pay for lessons i have looked into lessons at strong kiteboarding but its kinda out of the way,somthing in nanaimo would be cool

Hi Tedz,

You'd want lessons from an IKO or PASA certified instructor. There are a couple of them in Victoria and the shops could refer you. You might try Pacific Pro Dive shop in Courtenay as well. Winter isn't a great time to learn unless you go south. I don't know of any certified instructors in Nanaimo. Just be sure to get the lesons before venturing out, and let me know how it goes.
