So where the hell are the new webcams?

:x Well some bad news to report today. I can't put the Cook Street webcam where I had planned. So there will be a longer delay now until I can find a good home for it. Sorry to get everyones hopes up.

I went out and bought a new camera last week so it is all ready to be set up. So if anyone knows of a place - anywhere from Cook to Moss street would be perfect, then let me know. The house would need a computer and an internet connection, preferably Shaw.

I am still working out the details for the Gordons cam - Martin is away at the gorge now so I'll talk to him when he gets back.

yo dave,

any word on the possible Gordon's cam?

surely a webcam would be benificial to Martin's b&b (if he has his own website?) as well as all of us no?

if this is gonna take a donation or something, i can kick in some cake($) or a cam

Hey iserf:

I don't want to get everyone's hopes up (like I did with the Cook cam) but the Gordon's cam does look good. We are hoping to have it up and running shortly ... The extra good news is that it should be a permanent installation with images year round.

Thanks for the offer for a donation - so far I have bought both cams with my own $$, but I hope to pay for them with some more sponsorship. It might take a year or so to get them paid off, but thats ok.

Still working on a good site for the Cook Street cam. This is turning out to be a little more difficult tho.

Re: the Cook Street webcam

I went and visited the B&B at the bottom of Cook Street tonight (The Dashwood Manor). They are happy to host a webcam so that is good news. And man oh man what a view. From the top floor it is like you are standing on the edge of the cliff looking down. The only problem is that they don't want a camera in the b&b rooms, understandably. So I'm thinking the best way is to get an outside weatherproof camera (like the kind Mt Washington now uses) and mount this to their roof (see bccams). The netcam doesn't require a computer but it is $1200+outdoor enclosure.

I think this is all doable but will require some time and $$. So I'll look for some sponsors and look more into the camera. If we could get a camera here it would be very popular. You can't quite see the beach but you can easily see kiteboarders and windsurfers on the water.
