I got a real kick out of this message posted at:
http://forums.iwindsurf.com/viewtopic.php?t=12819

"Does anyone know where to find a younger crowd to windsurf with at The Gorge? I've been sailing from Stevenson to Maryhill and it seems to be all old and disgusting men hitting on me day in day out. No women or men really my age. Where are all the good looking people at?"

Is that is what windsurfing has become - a sport for disgusting old men? Like KUS ...
I wish my TOW was longer!

Ok, to miss the O trip, having rain at home on weekends, no wind and now being hacked on the site  .......it's all just a bit much.

I'm off to see my advisor :( She's a hottie

No young kiters at the Gorge these days?

Actually, around here there seems like a bit of a echo-boomer generation of younger windsurfers, both male and female, at the beaches (when there is wind that is.....). And an aweful lot of the kiters are disgusting old men too (you know who you are  )

Mostly it seems those with windsurfing parents; but there are quite a few others on second hand equipment (for around $1,000 you can get fully kitted out, not much different from most sports really and way cheaper than anything else that goes fast on the water) and of course wages are going up and younger people seem to have a little more spare income than a few years ago....

Nah, ageism is just another invention of us baby boomers trying to have it our own way all the time.
