VANCOUVER ISLAND WINDTALK

I bought a kite last summer, flew it on land a couple times and put it away for the winter. I busted it out a few weeks ago to find a decent amount of black mold/mildew. I am wondering if there is any way to get rid of that without damaging the kite? Vinegar or something of the sort?

I would try a MILD soapy solution and a scrub brush. Acid sounds like a bad idea ??
