Nitinat Sauna "$Contribution$"

Post by Teabag »

Good day everyone, as most people know, the Sauna has been rebuilt this year, and it is outstanding. I didn’t know much about who built it, who helped building it, who finances it, etc...

Someone nice with a big heart put a lot of energy and money towards building it. When I found out how much money was put into the material to build it, my jaw went “holy sh#$”. I already gave him some money, although I had to argue with him for him to accept the money.

Basically I am asking any Nitinat Sauna users (past present and future) to give Herman a $5 or 10$ if you feel like he did a good job. If there are 30 to 60 of us doing this it might cover 40% to 60% of what he invested. Cost recovering or not, getting back an honest thank you and appreciation for the amazing work he did from 30+ strangers would be awesome. And what is $5 or $10, really.

Just a thought...

Big thanks to Hermann and everyone that helped building it/maintaining it.
You guys rock!!! :D :) :) :D

I know for a fact that Herman has spent thousands and almost 2 weeks of his time for this project . Also thank Ian Wilkins for The lumber.

I haven't used it, but I saw the new one this year and WOW!

I suppose this will still have to be taking down at the end of the season though?

What is the protocol for using the sauna, just show up and have a seat? Maybe that is a stupid question.
Don't forget to bring a towel!

Protocol is simply be respectfull and take care of it. Clean up any beer cans/bottles you bring and leave it in better condition that when you arrived. YES Herman has put alot of effort into this project and yes it WILL need to be taken down at the end of the season with hopefully the help of many. As for contributions I also really feel ppl should help out with this if you are using it. Some ppl don't want to be mentioned for fear of being held responsible should something go wrong or someone hurt but if a general $$ kitty fund were to be put out with a volunteer to keep it safe I think would alleviate any of the "accountablility" issues and those that have invested alot of money (some of who will not and have not even had a chance to enjoy it yet) could recapture some of their money. I know these ppl did not want or expect any money but I do believe Teabags idea of helping out is great.

my two cents anyways.

Cheers
Dale

A certain Fin guy had been keeping the sauna stove in top shape for the last few years and I did the rock work around the sauna on a wet may weekend. Good to hear everyone is enjoying the sauna and putting in their two bits. the fin man will be proud of the contiuning sauna tradition. Herm has done an awesome job of building it.
