anyone have some wiki for Parker Park..it looks like a tight launch but decent...

It could be a great playground on a SE with D'Arcy Island & Zero Rock as boundaries and Island View as a catchment...its 3.5 km to IV as the crow flys

gotta watch the currents here though as they can rip good and of course the SE to Westerly switch...

Not much to launch from ... I.V. grass easier ... Consider agate lane 8)

ya checked out parker today and there is at least 12-15 meter beach at 2.8m high tide... agate was a little better but not by much...Parker has a much sandier beach than agate but agate has a better open area overhead

i wonder how much a SE will bend around mt doug and if it will even fill in all the way to the beaches there?

IV seems the best bet for sure as there would be some compression from the shoreline of agate / parker making for some gustier conditions on the beach of IV..

I've kited both, parker park and agate. Both decent on NE. Parker park is decent for self launch if you have a sling off the stair/fence rail. But you have to stay offshore when downwind. Rocky seawall on high tide and high banks make for a bubble/swirly wind in close. Would love to hit it in a low tide. Agate seems to be the area of choice. Island view far far superior on SE.

model has turned to favor willows beach now so that'll be the first stop for an OSR.. hope it fills in better north at IV... big ebb rolling through but die'in off for some flat water hopefully!

The wind usually gets more powerful early in the season as it wraps around the southern portion of the peninsula coming through the gap in Cadboro Bay. Therefore early on Cattle Point/Willows area will have more wind it seems early in the season, Agate downwind form IV seems to get better when it's later in the season. At best of times there is a wind shadow that comes and goes in Cordova Bay and kiters would be well advised to stay upwind of the tack straight out from Agate parking lot....where the winds are pretty steady and predictable....or risk hindenburgs when going deeper into that bay with not hope for relaunch.....a few learned this the hard way

Kiting off Cattle toward the Oak Bay marina is surprisingly steady at times and perfect water for kiting with the issue that if something goes wrong, your kite will go to Port Angeles (right, Patrick?) and you want to make sure you make the Oak Bay marina point and have some company. Teabag and a few others had some great kiting out there. I will try Cattle lateron today just to see. Water there is flat. Kite launch/land tho can be tricky due to the rocks at the point, not recommended for beginner/intermediates
