Boon-docking Tofino area

Anyone have brilliant ideas where to boondock from Kennedy Lake to Tofino anywhere? Used to know the area but things have changed big time over the last 10 years. Florencia Bay and Kennedy used to provide decent stops with Tofino beach parking lot being a decent second.
Descriptions of locations where you can still enjoy a peaceful "squat" with a small motorhome would be appreciated when wanting to sail Chesterman's in the winter.
Even Joe's field or the back of Julie's store with an extension cord for $20 would be okay.
Anyone have any local knowledge they are willing to share?

Hey, I lived up there a couple years ago, and really the only place left to go where the bylaw's wouldn't get you was the gravel lot beside the co-op gas station in Tofino. It's private property owned by the German guy who owns the crab motel (or whatever it's called) across the street; the point is he didn't care about who stayed there. Don't quote me on it though, things could have changed since then. Anywhere else (i.e. public property) you will get harassed all night by the by-offs.
Kinda beside the point, but this is the first time I've posted on here. Long time user, first time poster. I surf (surf surf, not windsurf) some spots regularly on a 30+ SE and have sometimes been known to venture out to I.V. Just wondering how you guys feel about that... often I'm sitting right where the best swellies are rolling in and I could imagine that not sitting well with some kiters/windsurfers. Thoughts?

Surf away, you won't find any attitude from anyone on this site! Lotsa wind/waves to go round. If your arms get tired you may even be able to score a free tow back to shore. I get a kick out of surfers out there in places you don't usually see them.
Oh and Kus, I've heard you can camp free on the road that goes out to the dump, never done it myself tho...

Yeah, I think it's cool too seeing surfers out where we don't usually see them.....until it becomes crowded I suppose. It's when you are waiting for a decent wave and a windsurfer comes in on a tack to ride one, we usually don't have the luxury of hanging around waiting
and will always take the next wave we can time best as we arrive, so if as at IV you are hanging right in the break area then we might run over you at some point
Actually I think I missed you once there by a hair cuz my eyesight is poor
and didn't expect to see ya
Thanks
D for the info

Yeah, actually I'm pretty sure I remember that... thought it was on purpose
Good to hear that I'm not getting too much stink eye out there. There's plenty enough of that going around at the breaks up the coast these days. Here's hoping we get another winter like the last one....

Don't ask how I came across this thread but its pertinent after spending the last week there...
Boondocking in Tofino has blown up this summer, it's crazy. I imagine the price of conventional lodging and the campgrounds being booked since February have finally pushed the regular surf bum/wannabe hipster/traveling vagrant out of the market and into squatting.
A few of us regular BWD-ers have had a favorite squatting spot for the past few seasons, normally we'd show up and it'd be the 2 or 3 of us and maybe one RV or Pickup. This Wednesday night the same spot was bumper to bumper with RV's, Vans, Pickups, Tents and Cars. It was like the front row of Nitinat in a parking lot. It seemed like half of them were Frenchies from that Province TeaBag comes from, New Brunswick or something?

Here I thought this was an interesting topic about docking in the boondocks ....
