Hey guys,

Thanks for the postings, appreciated!

That is a good price, I will check out what the issues are.

If it's no good, I will keep looking, as I prefer rust free.

Thanks again!

Paul

PS - that Vangon sold on the first day - just like the other one we went to see. Seems like people buy one for 6-9K, put a little work into it and then sell them for 15-20K. Few folks doing this. Sigh...

yea, I think it's a company on malahat buying them up. A buddy has a 70's westi forsale, not listed yet, if you're interested in an older one, Let me know, I'll send you his info. Think it needs a new top soon, and has a little rust in the battery tray, may need breaks soon, but the body looks solid.

Thanks winddude, but I am focussed on an 86-91 Anything in good condition (essentially rust free) I am open to. Yeah, that guy buying them up seems on top of it. JL, nice find, that one sold in a few hours! Most recent one was 10K and in way worse condition.

That guy on the Malahat *paid* 20K for a 1990 one of our neighbours (on trade in). Of course it means they must have overpaid for their new purchase, but he is really driving the price up - trying to sell a '77 for $28K!

I paid $500 for my '84 vanagon, and maybe another $1000 in parts, I did the work myself. The prices people charge for them are insane, people think they'll be samba's one day. .
