Going for trip along oregon coast with trailer and non windsurfing wife beginning of august anyone know of some nice on or near beach camping along the way maybe with some nice small waves to play on.

Honeyman state park is very near to the Florence Jetty and borders gorgeous swimming lakes and the dunes sand surfing area which can be fun or also ATV'ing (rentals also). Downtown Flo is very nice and warm for gift shopping and hanging at the coffee shops/pubs/market.

The Siltcoos trail is short but sweet for mtn biking or jogging in a loop, just a few miles south of the park, left hand side of road. To the north the sea lion caves lend themselves to a romantic get away with nose plugs. Past that is Cape Perpetua and Yahatz (pub/beaches, "outta gas pizza" dinner outing) which are gorgeous areas, viewpoint highway 101, Cape light house area is amazing. Nice hiking trails near Neptune Park and serious mtn hillclimb/radical downhill trail. The cape campground is ok in this area but usually full.

Florence south jetty beach can be not so gentle so exercise caution and don't bring your partner if very windy, she will never travel with you again otherwise....if light, there is a nice set of jetty rocks to hide behind in the warmth of the sun and watch you (try to) sail. During big swell there are rips that are significant.

Lastly, if there is a large swarm of seagulls gathered on the water surface outside you may not want to sail there for a while don't swim/sail on the river but crabbing is very good there.

Funny you should mention ththat swarm of seagulls Kus. Two sharks spotted in the lineup yesterday At Newport South Beach. Signs posted at the rigging area. Kelly and I sat on the dune and watched he sunset and a large swarm of active seagulls😧. Good thing I surfed at Agate yesterday. But they mostly just leave you alone right:)

Anywhere you can actually pull your trailer out onto beach like you use to be able to at long beach or is it all private and parks.

Long Beach, WA and maybe Pacific City, OR but not technically allowed to camp on the beach overnight.

there are the odd places where there is a pull out and you could probably stay there unless a state trooper or parks guy feels inclined to hassle you....there is for example a lookout past pistol river where we have stayed for a couple of days....but....do you really want to with everyone carrying equal volumes of meth and fire arms you can stay on the south jetty at Florence and have river view, ocean view if you have a serious all terrain trailer and 4x4 and are willing to beat up your gear.... like I have....and am looking forever at replacing/repairing the undercarriage from rust/impacts
you can camp at Gold beach in the fairgrounds which is right next to the beach and a number of other RV sites in Gold Beach, including one before you get into town southbound and just past (Hunter Creek)....at $50US per night.

Thanks i will check those out as well. May go down as far as yosemite so we'll have to go explore.

yeah...that's right...right wdoc sure thing. That's what the surfer in Siuslaw River in Flo thought til he had to beat it off with his surfboard. I think he got away ok...Neptune warden? You won't get away!!
