My wife wants to move to Salt Spring Island. Works for me... if I can kite/foil there. I’ve been through there on a ferry and observed wind in the past. Do you Know anyone who lives there and kites? Can I ask them?
Thank you, Noah

Wondering if Trincomali Channel might be good as it sometimes blows when its windy in the Strait. Definitely Burgoyne Bay (opposite Maple Bay, for Westerlies). Maybe Ganges Harbour in SE, but lots of traffic, and sea planes.

Ganges on a SE

I've also planed an Etchells 22 the whole way from Sansum Narrows to Southy Point so Vesuvius possible too in thermals I guess. But, judging by youtube, looks like Ganges is definitely doable!

Between the mouth of Maple Bay and Bougoyne bay are the windiest spots I've seen and they tend to blow a thermal 15-20 on most sunny days. Problem is you'll probably need at least a dingy to access it from the SSI side.

I've found the wind often is NW blowing from Maple Bay right through Burgoyne, where it exits in Fulford. Likewise I've been anchored in Ganges in a big NW, dragging through the mud, with the thermal NW blowing through Vesuvius and exiting in Ganges. But I'd explore the the Walker Hook area in Trincomali if you're looking for some waves, as that could be good in NW or SE especially if wind against tide, and plenty of fetch.
But ya, ain't no Victoria...
Disclaimer: Of course, I know nothing about launching kites and all that, I'm thinking from a sailing/windsurfing point of view.
But surely there are some decent places in the good SEs and NWs.

Hi,
Foiled off Saltspring twice in early July on a sailing trip. Both launches were off public beaches.
- Southey Point between Saltspring & Secretary Island (SE)
- Erskine Point / Stuart Channel between mainland and Saltspring (SSW)
There was potential to kite almost every day, I used an 8m for all conditions.
Can I connect with saltspringkiterpeaceguy? Human name Brad?

Saltspring is not a kiting destination. On the upside there are 3 ferries that can get you to Windy locations.
