Vic venue suggestion:
last week, the What'sOns, Jelly, JL and I were talking about camping out one night at the newly acquired CRD campground at IV. I believe $15/night and it was pretty empty despite it being August...at least it looked pretty empty
When the fireban is lifted, maybe we could combine that and be able to have a nice evening under the stars with some film watching, perhaps balance with a cool new kiting flic

Getting 30 people as a break even point is not a problem.
Tony are you doing your math @ $10.00 per head ($300.00)???
I would expect to see easily 50 to 100 people attending if we get the word out.

A single central location would be pretty sweet. Opportunity to meet folks from other areas, easier logistics etc... Would be a sweet way to wind up the summer season. I vote for PA if it's still going off. Can't say no to a combined sailing session/movie/social opportunity. Maybe we could raise a few bucks to support the website/ more cams etc...
Thanks for working on it Tony, a great idea. We're in.

At Wild West Watersports in Port Alberni, while the guys are working hard on some fundamentals, I've been scrubbing/cleaning the massive concrete wall and will be painting it, so, there'll be an outdoor projection screen for videos/movie viewing coming soon. Thanks to many helping hands over the summer, we have lots of room for parking, rigging, and chairs for future events like this.

When do you think that will be ready Sandy?
As for the Victoria show I am going to go ahead with it, so I will hopefully firm up a date and location this week.
Thanks for everyone's input.
PA ready

Screen wall is done in the Wild West, so, ready now.
Kevin from W/S Parksville is windsurfing today in the PA inlet, and it appears we are in agreement of a PA sailing/movie gathering on a September weekend.
Let's pick a date.

Ok, we should really talk about a few details first though.
Hook me up with an email address and we can deal with it that way.

Hi Guys,
Sailed Wild West today with my buddy Mark.
It teased us for building to a big day but when it was all said and done we sailed 6.0 to 7.5 on our old Roberts 9.4. Still ripped.
However what made the day complete was once again the hospitality from Sandra and Rob. You guys are tooooo Coooool.
If we do a movie night up Island their place is the venue. They already have the view screen in place. ( nice paint job Sandra )
FYI

Next week I am going to firm something up, the Victoria show is a no brainer, just working out some kinks to see if an up-island one will work too.
Cool...let me know how I can help with the Victoria show.
