| Details | When I arrived there was commotion as a pod of ocra (with one really big fella) were passing the point. I setup my big kite and self-launched and started out on the Tiki. It was pretty light but that kite/board combination works well for those kinds of conditions. I was out for about half an hour and a lull coincided with me falling off the board and ending up very downwind of it. After a few minutes of body dragging in the very light wind I got back to the board and decided to come in as the wind was still really light. I self-landed and stood around for about 20 minutes. There were some other kiters setting up and the wind came back up. I relaunched, with an assist from Chase, and took the Duke out. I bombed around for a while and the wind steadily built and I had to start putting on a lot of de-power. I decided I had best come in. I came in over the reef and unfortunately one of my fins struck the reef and popped off. That is a bummer and I will be more respectful next time. Otherwise, I had a fantastic session, glad to get out at Clover again as it has been a month since my last session there. [from Session Log on Saturday September 14, 2024] |
