Showed up at CP around 12:30 looking for Bobson but he wasn't there. Gus was still out catching the gusts with his 6m and getting some nice foiling in so I decided to give it a go despite Bobson not being there. Pumped my 7m and pulled out the 96l armie DW board that I'm still figuring out. Problem was I'd grabbed my 700 foil when I thought I'd brought my 900. Doh! Arrived at 9:00am to 6-10kts and knew the forecast was for it to lessen throughout the day so figured this was my only chance so invoked Rule #11 - Just take the freakin' shot!! Ok, so I did. I put on the G1007 (1700cm2) front foil and rigged a super fat 6.0m Sailworks Flyer. It took a few mins to find a gust but 30 mins after that it had picked up to 10-12kts and foiling was sooo flippin' easy!! Arrived at 10am ish to 10-15kts but looked pretty steady at 12-14kts so rigged the 4.5m as I was feeling like lazy-Bobson today. Took a couple minutes to get up on foil but after getting it up, keeping it up was easy. It was super flat off the S-end of James Island and out front off the beach but in between it was crazy confused wavy. I didn't think there was that much tide but apparently there was. Nice to get out for an hour on the big wing. Called it too early during a lull where it completely shut off near shore. It picked up again about 10 minutes later.
Kept to the outside to avoid eel grass near shore. Toast in the dry suit. Why have a 7m if you never use it?

Made the trip to IV and met up with GregCan, we surveyed the situation and determined it was probably 12-16. Pumped up the 5 and launched into a small shore break. Bobson showed up shortly after and the wind gradually picked up to 18. Lots of whoohooo's and some fun swell rides. Fair amount of kelp and a few good takedowns! Good times!

Looked slightly ruffly on the Willows cam, so went to check it out. Tweezer said he and BoPeep were at Cattle(not sheep), but I certainly couldn't find them. Out I go with the "ultralightwind" kit, and it immediately gets me flying. It stayed pretty light for most of the hour until I decided to come in, then if course it picked up a few knots. As i left Tweezer and Pope both looked nicely powered up and flying around.

Looked at Willows with Bobson earlier, but wasn't inspired. Later, ULR was heading out, then Pope, and 1 more. Rigged the 5 and 1099 and tried for 30 mins w/o success. Came in to upsize my foil but broke my torx bit, so left the foil and waited instead. I almost packed it in when ULR came in, but some puffs came through. Just enough to pop! Ebb was flowing through The MTI channel so caught some swellettes for 30. Fun after a wee wait!

Sat at Willows and Cattle Pt for an hour waiting for wind....didn't really happen so headed to IV. Arrived to Rupp-Dogg foiling with a 5.0m, GregCan launching with a 6.0m. I figured I'd check how much wind there was so pulled out the anamometer. 10-12kts. Okay, rigged the 6.0m and headed out and was foiling immediately. Really good session playing in the waves out front.
As per what seems to be the new normal, sat for a good couple of hours watching the wind line stay a mile offshore.
Got out as soon as it reached the beach - the flip side to it being delayed, was almost immediate large swell, disproportionate to the wind strength.
Had some really wild rides down the large swell.
Perfect conditions.

Busy North Shore on this Thanksgiving Day. Fantastic Kanaha conditions, solid 25kts all afternoon, mostly 3 and 4m wings. There had to be a hundred wings out there, all skill levels sharing the corridor between the point breaks and lower boneyard. Today was all about control and collision avoidance. I should have stayed on the Kapalua side (West).
Kahului wind report showing 12kts rising, I made another trip across the Island to Kanaha. Rig the 5.0 because that's all I took. 5 more knots please! No luck. Worked very hard to save this one and finished with a surfy swim. Beautiful waves but just not enough wind to follow through. I was the only short board in Kaa, everyone on DWs, lots of prone and paddle foilers. Took a knife to a gun fight again :/

Excellent day on the water in spite of a few mishaps. Lots of jellyfish today. Some people had jellyfish stings that were significant.
Tried the 1300S Code front wing with the 5m. Really liked it.
Switched back to the 980S. Stepped on a sea urchin. Spines right through the bootie. Spent the next hour trying to dig the spines out on my foot.
Went back out on the 7m. Overpowered, so when 5.5m. Wind picked up so I switched to the 4.5 m.
All in all, a great day..

Left from the YC and sailed up to Willows, no one around at 9 am and breeze down a bit so back to the club to trade the 3m for the 5m. Back up to Willows and said hi to a few others (big wooooooo for Bobson). Back to club for a burger and beer then back out to play in the bay for another 45 mins. Waves were sloppy off willows but bigger and smoother due east of Cattle Point. Session 60 of the year, ten past the goal!

Arrived to Windoc and Greg out on parawings both looked like they were schlogging so rigged 5 then after a few good gusts decided on 4M only a couple wingers Tweezer and another. Other wingers left and had an hour or more to myself . Waves were good a bit lumpy but with the wind so far east wing would end up right in my way if i turned to the right. Gus showed up at the end but I was too tired to stay out.

Almost everyone left, I and one kite were only ones for a long time then another kite joined and a foiler with a 7 m launched. I'd come in as it seemed to be dropping and I was tired but I think it came up again. Super steady wind, steadiest I think I've ever seen there. Close on a few jibes, fun just to cruise back and splash and forth and splash.

I'm a big bombo fan! That was one of my fave sessions at Willows ever! Tons of onshore power with swells you could ride to the beach. I ended up with my 6m after some OG intel, then the winds amped up a bit. Lucky that 6m Cabrinha X3 is so forgiving and well-behaved in big winds. Sweet carving and jibing right at the grandstand! No need to seek out the bigger winds beyond MTI. It was warmish with some sunshine. It may not be Mexican Magic, or Marvelous Maui - but it was Willows Wonderful.!

Clover delivers another fun day. Started on the DW board and Greg's 2.9 parawing and my 880 foil. Some fun rides, but my dishgloves were too grippy for sliding up the lines when getting ready to stow. Went back out on 3m wing for a bit in the lumps and had some good rides. Back out on 4m parawing with some relative success before I sprained the MCL of my left knee on an awkward fall. Weird! Not too bad thankfully. Went Willows winging with daughter Zoe and her BF Sean for a quick hour. Zoe decided to pass today(wise choice) and I hung about Sean as it was his first Willows session so gave him the run down of the place, except realized as he was getting going and heading right along shore toward the yacht club that I had forgot to tell him about the outfall! Ok, that was fantastic!! Arrived early @8:30am to 25kts so rigged the 4.5m Sailworks Flyer as flat as possible. The Pope and TnT arrived and rigged 4's and we all headed out at the same time. It was quite wavy but shorebreak was manageable and it wasn't high tide yet so there was a bit of room to launch. Sailed for an hour and a half and the wind decided to drop down to 15kts so I came in for some tea to warm up a bit as many more Wingers showed up. Launched with Bobson and TnT around 930am. I struggled to get offshore on the 75L midlength, and not wanting to damage my foil on one of the concrete outfalls I switched to the 100L and headed back out. Typical SE Willows November mixed bag conditions -- gusty winds and confused chop -- but still a pretty fun session and it was nice to be able to stay on the 4m for the whole thing.
