Well, I had on my super-lightwind setup. I figure that I need 10kts to get foiling and maybe 7-8kts to keep going. There were lots of large holes that were basically nothing. Fun to see the gust coming and then pump like heck and see if I get foiling. After looking at the stats, 12 mins of foiling was not too bad for how light it was. Arrived to 8-12kts, looked amazing and warm. As I started to rig the 6.0m it picked up to 10-15kts so I rigged the 4.5m (1st error) Headed out just as RobC arrrived. Enough wind but I was having trouble getting it up as I was standing right at the back of the board to get it to fly.....OH CRAP, I had left on the 70cm fuse from Winging on the weekend. Stupid!! Headed back in and changed the fuse to the 87cm fuse for Windfoiling. Wind still looked okay so stayed with the 4.5m (2nd mistake). Got flying a bunch ... (more)

First time to Pipers! Washrooms, nice grassy park and rigging area with sheltered beach. And windy place! A little intimidated by the side/offshore wind. If you break down or the wind dies on the outside...........? No locals to show me the ropes, so finally launch at 10am on a solo session. Really steady wind and colder water. Just enough on the 5m and MA1050 foil. Stay upwind and close to shore to play it safe.

I didn't like the premature ending at CP, so I jumped on Poper's OSR of a possibility at RB. It was more marginal conditions at RB, but still worth a try. I got some happiness near Clover, but it was fleeting. Sadly, the kelp is starting to really form up now. Lots of loose clumps are starting develop. Exhaustingly fun regardless.

Jumped on the morning OSRs. It beat my initial plan of cutting the lawn. Bobson and Rob were already out. Sadly, Rob was already back in when I arrived saying that there wasn't enough. Bobson also headed in for his bigger gear. Gorgeous sunshine, warm, and marginal winds. Still worth a try. I got lots of light wind pracice and found a gusty patch around the yellow buoy. Winds reduced below foilable just as Gee got out on the water. A lot of pumping to stay on foil. Good workout in the warm sun!

Whale watching. Lunch served from Tsawwassen's food truck! Late afternoon cooldown session on big gear. About six whales spouting in the bay! One adult sea lion checking me out. Light wind made for torpedoing your way out through hollow wave faces in the light wind swell and more backside riding than frontside, but got a few frontside rides too! Perfect NW - which means playing in the waves at Singing Sands.
Always slightly intimidating to start ( large swell) but after a few minutes, it became just plain fun.
Strangely though, my hands thought it was winter again, and so had to come in several times to un-numb them.

Underdressed. Wind kept pumping all day and returned to the water mid-afternoon for a second session. Started out on the same gear but it proved too much. Bark. Got on it early at about 11 am and it was light and shifty. Then switch back to side on-shore making Long Beach feel like Pistol River. Group of sea lions were rafting on the outside and barking at us make it feel like Columbia Beach! The crew was firing again, this time with jumps on offer. Jesse and Maxim did an upwind/downwind wind run to Schooners Cove. More fun in the sun!

Take-two for the all-wing sessions. This time remembered my mast bolts and got the new foil on the board. Went out early before it nuked to get some mellow learning time. Armstrong foil setup worked much better than my Slingshot one. Got lots to learn though. Small foot movements make a big impact. Wore myself out fast with all the re-starts but got further than last time.

Started off on the 4.5m and big front foil HPS1050, eventually went to 3m and HPS930 as it was getting really windy and gusty and squirrely...so much better. Some nice big swell developed again, twas great fun again. A bevy of fun fun days, 3rd big west in a row!

Waited till it ramped up! Arrived with most of the crowd packing up. Fully powered on the 3m the whole time, some of the gusts came through seeming to be well over 30Kts. Conditions were difficult out there though, didnt find a good rhythm and kept falling. Tried a few high speed foot switches and the 120 tail makes you pay if you dont get them perfectly. All in all - good session though.

Arrived to great looking swell and 3m winds. Gusty as hell with gusts 30+ near c-lover but fun smooth swell on the outside and no crowds. I felt dialed for the first half then had a small fall on some swell but with a big whiplash landing. Felt a bit unbalanced after that and I think my brain got rattled a bit.

3rd straight day of quality winds! Less epic than Fri and Sat, but flatter and easier to those with lesser skills, like me. Tried to chase Bbsn, Poper, and Lancer to film them but they were usually much faster than me. Some jumbled swell beyond the point, but there were wind holes out there too. Pretty happy to just carve from the point to the beach and back. Ended it as the winds reduced, just in time for Easter dinner. As I was leaving, the winds look to be increasing again. What a place! Got there as it blew up. Went out on a 4.2m wing and my 1030 foil. Way overpowered. Came in for my 3m and put on my 840 foil. Rookie move changing 2 things at once. Struggled to get on foil with the 3m. Came back in and grabbed the 4.2 wing and was much better.

Lighter winds at the top of the session. Got stuck out there a few times in softer moments. And just when i thought it was best to head in, everything turned on. Speed testing the 850 with a 5m. A little on the chilly side but great steady, flat conditions, mostly filled in almost to the beach. A gybetorium! I made it round the corner almost every time, got sheeted in toeside a few times, once went 5 seconds or more before crashing. Getting close again, multiple days helps. Fun chatter on the beach. Ramping up when I left, and last half 4.0 would have worked.

Arrived early to light wind and very flat water. Waited for 20 mins until The Pope arrived and I rigged 5.0m KT Air and he rigged his 5.5m. Sir Lance-a-lot arrived just as we were rigging. I really wanted to sort out my jibes because falling in, getting on the board and getting going again is very tiring. Better today but still need to improve.
