| Details | It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, ...it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us.. (Dickens). Like a tragic novella my day of bombogenesis reckoning was upon me. Joined Tweezer, BWD and immediately regretted my initial foil and wing choice, so scampered back in relatively unscathed by the beastly shoredump, then to re-emerge into the havoc with new and much improved sizes (2.5m wing, Axis HPS 930). So much better and actually beginning to relax and enjoy things, it was the best of times. Got one fantastic long swervy curvy speedy ride on a moving mountain to the fabled spiral turret, a quick turn and reach back to the outside, to get some more of that, another jibe on the outside to catch the next mountain train and...BIG SPLAT, and crash, and pop goes the weasel! Shit there goes my wing cartwheeling towards Esquimalt and beyond. Now begins my winter of despair the looong paddle in, Chris drops by and says Mark has my wing! oh joy! no wait he does not, oh sorrow! Many many minutes later i hear the gentle crescendo of whomping big beach break, and now it's my turn. Over the falls on a big one, give up the board to fend on its own, struggle, grovel, grapple the board and stumble up amongst the high tide logs and churn. Up the spiral stairs with board on shoulder, head held high to blend in with the dog walkers, joggers, gawkers and traipse back to the parking lot. ....ps if you find my wing please contact me [from Session Log on Tuesday November 19, 2024] |
