Details | Arrived to not much with Sir Danno coming in swearing and The little Drunken Monkey having a nap in his Monkey-Van. Whatever!?!? H-Rock woke up and Danno was packing up and then they started drinking beverages.....again, whatever!?!? Then what to our wondering eyes did appear but The Pope and 9 tiny reindeer.? I went pee and then we all chatted while the booze-hounds drank. I saw and felt some wind so rigged up a fat 6.0m Sailworks Flyer and my big 1700cm2 foil. Headed out and 4 mins later I was up and foiling. WooHoo!!! Danno left and H-Rock and The Poper headed out when I headed in to put on the 1263cm2 foil as the 1700cm2 is like going in slow motion and not really that turny. Then Rupp-Dogg showed up and headed out as well the A.-Steele gang. One other dood was out there but I'm not sure his name. I lasted just over an hour and got 20+ kms in but wind was pretty holey so had a bit of schlog time. Oh ya, while out on the 1700cm2 about 5 mins into my session I hit a large log and went over the handlebars and the u-joint came off the board and the board started heading downwind....I swam like a crazed dolphin after it know that if it got away I had to swim for probably close to a kilometer back in to shore with my rig....not sure how that would work but it wasn't going to be good. Anyways, I caught my board about 20 meters downwind and swam it back to my rig which looked like it was 95% submerged by now. Small heart attack but took a breath and attached the u-joint back to the board which took about 5 mins as it's very tough to get it attached. Anyways, crisis averted. I knew there were 4 or 5 guys on Goat Hill probably watching and possibly laughing at BOBSON in the water for so long. Other than that it was a pretty good session as I decided to come in at what seemed like the right time just as GBV was heading out with his 7m Wing. Good session with a Happy Ending. Maybe some more tomorrow..?? BOBSON OUT!! [from Session Log on Monday April 07, 2025] |
