Details | Best Session of the Year!! Warm weather and my fav wind speed. If it was a bit flatter it would have been perfect although I do like some waves to enhance my wave riding ability. Arrived at 1pm to 10kts and a lot of cars parked on Goat Hill. >>dislike button<<. I think I was 6 or 7th up the hill and first wind lover to arrive. Waited for 30 mins for it to pick up a bit. The Twizzler and his new ride arrived along with Mtnarg. I decided to rig the 6.0m Flyer FR to ensure I had enough power with the shorter fuse. The 6.0m Flyer FR is actually a great sail as it is much like a slalom sail depowering when needed with the additional downhaul and looser leach than the regular Flyers. Anyways...blah, blah, blah. I got out for a quick 30 mins and then it ramped up to 15-18kts so came in and rigged the 5.2m Flyer but kept the 6.0m rigged on the beach. Still lots of people out sun bathing. I got an hour on the 5.2m and then it lightened up a bit, maybe 10-14kts so came in and grabbed the 6.0m again. Before heading back out I ate the 1/2 sandwich I made this morning and put some more sunscreen on. I looked out and counted 15 Wings. Pretty good showing!! Mr. Keen showed up to show the Windfoiling gang was not dead although Rupp-doggy and MF4-doggy seems to have both traded their wind-catcher of choice. Others that I remember yelling their names after passing them were Rupp, Docker, Twizz, The Junkman, H-Rock, TunaCan, Mtnarg, Gustastic, Bouchie, Sammy and I'm sure there were many others. Using the shorter fuse, 95cm needs more shim (stabilizer angle) which defintely slows things down as I was pushing hard and only reached 37km/h. Lots of boat traffic going by fairly close which kind of sucks as they don't seem to give way and leave a fairly large wake. I came in once more to put on the 5.2m again as it seemed to pick up over 15kts again. Fun but also tired so after trying to weave my way though all the weeds and sticks, I decided to pull the plug. Had a nice chat with H-Rock and BWD and then made my way down to Twizz's new ride which is freakin' amazing!! Received a celebratory beverage and then headed home just as a new group of Wingers were heading out. WOW, What a day. Sun, Wind and tonnes of smiles and WooHoo's on the water. BOBSON OUT!!
