Northwesterly winds will remain breezy across the
coastal waters today in the wake of a frontal system that moved
through earlier this morning. High pressure will build across the
northeastern Pacific this weekend, though another disturbance
will move along its periphery and across the area waters Sunday
into Monday. Onshore flow will continue, with another round of
small craft strength westerlies expected down the Strait of Juan
de Fuca this afternoon and evening. Another onshore push is
expected along the Strait Sunday night into Monday, likely
yielding another round of small craft headlines. High pressure
will then persist across the northeastern Pacific through midweek,
before weakening on Thursday as the next system approaches the
waters Thursday night into Friday.
Seas across the coastal waters remain steep and generally persist
between 8-10 ft at around 8-10 seconds this afternoon. Seas will
subside towards 7-9 ft by tonight, before falling to 6-8 ft on
Sunday. A brief uptick towards 10 ft is possible again late Sunday
into Monday, before seas subside towards 4-6 ft on Tuesday.

Hmm well Ballenas isn’t on the latest or the “not reporting” stations list anymore from what I can tell. The tides table is also not displaying fully since yesterday:(
I don't know where TWN are getting their data. From the EC land station page Ballenas is not listed and the direct link to the site shows N/A which normally means the site is not updating. Also Kus confirmed below that "the estimated time to get station back online is by end of April."
Looks to me like the 'current' condition on TWN may be an interpolated model number. I still get a 'station not available' from the current conditions for Ballenas from Environment Canada Marine Weather Georgia Strait north of Nanaimo.
I see and agree More Force & BWD & Kus. No data at present. Ballenas Airport code is CWGB and USNWS says last reported Dec 31 2024 Data is likely interpreted from Sisters Isl. tgftp.nws.noaa.gov/weather/current/CWGB.html
(I gather its the same for the English Bay Bouy at the far West end of English Bay.) No Data at present
How long have the little popups with stats and links been on here? Day count since your last session, or a link to your windiest session ever (apparently Dec 23, 2010 for me, interesting read), most used bit of kit and other random things! Its a fun addition!
Downwinding as in either SUP paddling up onto foil, and going DW or using a Parawing to get up onto foil and going DW with chute packed away then redeploying and doing laps back UW. This is all focused around chasing bumps going DW, not mowing the lawn/freeriding.
