Re: Weather at Lake Nitinaht
Hey JC, some inconsistencies in your estimates lately are largely explained by higher level east to west pressure gradients which still play a significant role in surface level air movement. Lately there has been a lot of offshore high level flow (why you've seen smokey skies and sunsets but not ...

I can confirm access to the Cape Oasis/culvert bird bath is better than last season and yes, the peeper camera in there is still up. I guess they liked what Jesse and I were offering up. Maybe we have our own cape only fans. Dare to google.

Coming down Alex?
The water at Flo the other day I swear was the coldest I've felt. Maybe I'm just getting soft though. 3 of us here at the cape now, looking good for a few days.

Re: Aluula selling off OR ??
Naw - it's more simple than that. Publicly traded company, board sees it is a lot easier and more profitable to just sell fabric to whomever wants it than to deal with the complexity of running a kite brand which probably generates very little profit for the shareholders relative to that effort ...

I'm guessing the answer is, "because you first gotta find the new screw!"

Re: Stripped footstrap insert
Dry it out. Pour in any type of epoxy (JB-Weld will work great). Re-drill smaller than screw. Screw back in. Easy-as.

Best hack is to rent a U-Haul van and sleep in that in the U-haul car park beside Costco. Buddy from Toronto has done this twice for two weeks both times!
I have a line on a rental vehicle if you are looking.

BWD Post-Covid Oregon Coast Wave Special
Do sharks eat wingers?
Will ex-windsurfers reuinte with their poles to dance at the sea star?
Does freedom still only cost a buck O' five?
Did La Casita de oro survive covid?
If you can't camp on the rogue River anymore does camping still exist?
Is gold beach meth as good as I don't remember it ...

Re: Wingfoiling Progression
Outside Esquimalt lagoon is kelp free but the wind is usually gusty. I like it though. It's definitely more sketchy for kiting than for Wing or Windsurf. Look for SW days for better wind, WSW for not as great and W for gusty AF.

Re: Where to start?
Have you windsurfed? That will be a bigger help than foiling experience. Foiling experience just allows you to be used to the sensation and not freak out when you are feeling like you are (actually ~70cm) 10 feet in the air on foil!
Re: BWD v2.0
On the desktop version if I click on either of the thumbnail photos on the right side on the home page they both go to the Gordons album even though when I hover over my last photo it shows the caption. Figured I'd mention that.
