for feedback: I think the x2 is overkill. the max zoom gives a view that is too zoomed in. The x1.5 may be better, but I'm not sure as the max zoom still only shows mostly water and not much land. it's hard to get a handle on the waves size when there is no land to reference. so, to me, there seems to be little value in the max zoom of either the x1.5 or x2. but, perhaps the real advantage of the x2 or x1.5 is the better resolution on intermediate zoom settings.
overall - my opinion is that the new camera is good 'as is'.
now - back to work ...
