I once met a guy living on Pender (at the time), who took an old mini, removed the back seats, cut it in two, and added 36" to the middle. It ended up being long enough for him to lay down in with his surf board next to him and gear at his feet. The performance was the same as a normal mini, cornered like mad!

I laughed so hard looking at your post with the SMART CAR..[back one page at Pg.4]. All I could think of ... SMART car and the point of the vehicle.

Thank-you for a great laugh.

My Windsurfing wagon has turned into a Momma wagon for our 7 month old child. I am starting to revisit thoughts about the ultimate windsurfing vehicle.

Too bad few diesels were sold here (other than v.w. golf/jetta/passat) so we have no supply of used units.Other than massive full size pickups & vans...Kus you could do well importing those used M.B. units. Here is a guy in Quenel who imports. http://www.fastforward.ca/vanagon/ Check out his 'picture gallery'.

You see a lot of Delica 4wds around now as used dealers are importing them. But they also come in a 2wd versions which sits lower and would have better fuel economy. The dealer in Parksville can order them. 2.2 L diesel engine, plenty of guts, I guess reliable as hell being Mitsubishi. Convertable to vegetable oil for the fanatical.

$110,000 yep, what a deal for a friggin van!

I'm wondering what it would cost for a stripped out Sprinter, add minimal camping/windsurf storage custom....

Looks like $40k for a recent Sprinter Cargo van, used. How about an old one? And it is a manual transmission Kus! RHD though. I love the fact that they are diesel.
