A little marginal on the 5.8 until the last hour or so. Had fun on the big stuff cruising, chop-hopping and working on tacks and helis. When it picked up I got in a couple of table-tops, two 3/4 backloops and one forward attempt with my usual mid-air bail-out. Gotta commit  .

Mmmm, good fun. Not enough time on water and too much visiting, but this of course was part of the reason for the trip. Water is getting to cold for just a 4/3 and regular booties.

Had a couple of good duck jibes, a couple of tacks.

Da boyz are staying over. I have to work tomorrow so I'm back :(

I should have lauched at Mill Bay when I saw it blowin'. Much better conditions here. I saw that some were out in 5 m sails at Island view but not many were planing. Strong gusts and current. This is my 3rd time at IV and I haven't been impressed once. Just gusty and looks stronger than it is or the wind line is off shore.

:D Arrived to find things beginning for BWD, Winddoctor, Kus etc.... They spent the morning tidying the beach and it seems contemplating "bootie soup" while waiting for the wind. Things were OK for a short session, but really softened quickly. Spent a while milking the wind/waves on the big sea trash (and doing the walk for exercise...). Most sailors left, then with a few left (BWD et.al.) it finally arrived. Nice session on the move/6.0. LOTS of rather uncontrolled and spooky airtime (like, lets say, ... (more)

    1.20 hours Seatrash George's Donation Board 9'3''
    Sailworks Retro 6.0
:D The 9:45 AM beach tour showed that ~18-20 kn were blowing at Oar Rd. Got the Move 95 and for a lark, the old Sea Trash. The wind seemed to be softening, so I sailed the Sea Trash for increased flotation and just to check it out. Nice planing and big waves (the sea trash is decidedly not a wave board, and likes to pierce waves rather than ride them :(. After the wind died, headed to Columbia. Sole Sailor until I packed up, then one big board showed up to have some uphaul practice... :)

Started out really wierd and easterly, and apparetnly I dont know how to rig a sail anymore. After I got that sorted out it filled in for a fun powered up session on the 5.4. Should have brought food and water. Bonked after 3 hours and had to come in and beg from my fellow sailors for nourishment.

This is what you can do at CB when it is not windy:

    -look at Bean's hole.

    -watch for bears.

    -watch fishing Eagles.

-wait for big loose women to come by with big ol' warm hands

-watch matdog pick the beach clean and then watch him kite alllllll day.

-invent new windsurfing moves, the best was the amoeba (tail first forward).

-make foot soup in your booties...this takes at least 4 hours of wet foot in bootie.

    -shiver about a million times.

-there was some talk about spooning each other for warmth in ... (more)

More talk than walk today but at least I got an early hour of 5.8, big ramps and attempted tabletops before the wind pulled way way offshore and we all stood around blabbing for two hours. I went out on the big freestyle board and slogged out to the wind later but I think I was closer to the mainland than the island so I limped back to the beach and packed it in. :? Shoulda gone out on the 5.8 after it dropped a bit, too lazy. Lent my sails to young friend of Joel's who was over-geared. Saw Joel get some HUGE air way downwind near ... (more)

Wanted to go to CB but was scared away by the animated satellite shots- turned out to be a good choice. Willows wasn't exactly epic but not bad 5.6 conditions by mid morning. However there were tons of eel grass in the water making me wish I owned a weed fin. But after 3 1/2 weeks of no sailing I'll take it.

By the time I was ready, it dropped. But... it came back! Perfectly smooth, steady if mellow for 45 minutes of 14-15, then 20 minutes of 16/17. I will take that over a blustery SE anyday (being that I am a fair weather kiter). The last wind was from a rain cloud that sprinkled a few drops, threatened, then dissapated al ... (more)

Nice start to the week, coffee/raisin bread thx Pat :D , sun & nobody out except yours truly til Pat bit, few others & another fogbank glorious day; came up nicely w/ windline at 12, sailing by 1215 til 2, building to decent 6.0, thought it would get bigger but had to leave early today. 3 sails, not a kite in sight today til I left. Nice bunch of helis, a few ducks both ways w/shortboard, doesn't like a 6 :? ; odd wavelet lent itself to riding a bit even :P

should have gone 14. kind of boring session, to be honest, but the last one of the year for the lake. perfecty smooth wind, and nothing to complain about, but lacked inspiration. just me, rob crease and dan out.

Was the wind dummy & enjoyed solitude of the lake for quite some time, then w/MB 4 another 1/2 hr; counted 22 kites at one time & many fewer sails; same as yesterday only w/a bit of 5.4 shortboard rushhour, giving opportunity to try my Angulo, slow but slashy, likes smaller sails 4 sure. Spent best of evening wind towing a kiter in, poor timing.

    Sail 6+ Wave 3 Jump 3

Nice fireside with Vic & Pat, day (& night) ruined by 1/4 of a brownie, who knew? Never again I say, life's too short :ev ... (more)
