Went out early thought there was enough wind for small foil (spitfire) .nope went in and got the 1150 was teased into going in again after an hour or so and went back out on 890 which worked for a bit and then was mostly frustrating. Good to get out with the mostly retired crew.

Fist session on a downwind board. Narrow, tippy and tricky foot switches but amazing how easy it is to pump up to hull speed for takeoff. Fell a ton. Tried the 3.5 for a run and almost got up in 10 knots.

Like usual, I got there after CB was finishing up a session. I landed another fellow and then self-launched and set off. The wind was quite light as I started but with the wind so southerly it was easy getting going on the western side. I tried to join the OG fun at RB, but a series of missteps had me run out any RB play time. I sorted myself out and decided to try a session at Fleming Beach once again. The cross-on wind was something I could work with. The exit was difficult. Going from slightly powered, to unpowered with swell, to powered with swell. Much tougher than CP on rough day. Regardless, there was some nice swell close in and I was able to play a bit close to shore. The swell is nice. If only there was better access...

Snagged a quick hour after work. Very south, so had to point towards the bottom of the bay and pump with selective puffs of wind to get flying before getting too far down into doldrum land. Once flying it was all good and you could head straight up the coastline on port tack. Very different wind angle than the normal westerly.

I see wind. Watching it all day and thankfully it held on until I was off work. Headed to Cattle Pt as it looked S or SE. Nice flat water mostly except lots of tidal action felt like I was foiling in a blender. Enough wind to really go wherever I wanted. 3 Wings out from Willows, and 1 Kite foiler going wherever he wanted and ended up going out around the golf course corner. OR kite. 1 Wasp out ripping fast and a bunch o' sailboats. So much fun today, so I'm celebrating with a Corona. WooHoo!!!

Fickle and deceivingly light winds, combined with choppy conditions made for a bit of a frustrating session. I decided that I'm ready to graduate from my HS1850 to my MA1475, the latter having BWD provenance for good luck. This was my first time on it. VERY frustrating to start- SO much salad in the water in the surf zone made foiling impossible- and i couldn't bear off to gain speed, as the only obstacle in the bay is a small reef 100m down the beach :-(
However, once I did finally clear the obstacle ( and weeds) was all good.
Some really fun wave rides and enough wind to keep the 5m flagged out several times ( still a new experience for me).

several sessions outside the lagoon this May. easy flat water for practice carving and feeling good. 2h .Really getting used to the NL190, love it. The GL210 compared to the NL190 got to much drag IMO. The NL190 is so playful , lots of potential
second session on the slingwing V3 - very direct, lots of power, not really forgiving in overpowered conditions, long handles are kind of slippery, very hard to flip on the water in strong wind.

It certainly was not like the past sunny, warm, RB days. Onshore winds in brown rain runoff waters were not inspiring, but GregCan got out in his 7m and made it work. Poper and I followed with big wings given the onshore and variable winds. For short folks like me, getting out was the hardest part. Luckily, I caught a gust and avoided the usual drama. Gordo followed and I tried to follow the 3 of them to get footage. Too bad, I just wasn't fast enough as they all accelerated away. Good to get out!

Nice session on the 5m and 1150! Launched at 3pm and had plenty of power! The swell was big outside the 1 km marker for most of the session, but smoothed out near the end as the wind backed off in turn. A few weeds, but not the kind that stick to your foil :)

Awesome rainy morning session at Willows -- my first session there since my run in with Emerson a few weeks back. The water was quite murky with all the run off from the rain. I was a bit overpowered on my 7m for most of the time I was out. Had some great passes with Greg, Ang, Gordon and Grant!

a definite shit show- took 2 tries to get out. First attempt was 20 minutes getting absolutely maytagged in the surf.
Came in for an hour, had a coffee, decided to try again. Was 1 wave from getting skunked again, but just managed to eek out.
Once out, apparently had forgotten how to ride the waves ( 2 weeks of flat water NW). Didn't get a single gybe in the first 45 minutes.
After that it became a bit more familiar (and fun). Decided to quit while I was somewhat ahead.

It works! Back to South Chesterman to for a wind/surf check. It was filling in so decided to rig to try the 5.3/92 thruster for slog n' ride. Tide was ebbing to a slack low. It worked, well! It can even tack, well! Super fun catching clean, punchy little waves that stayed open for ever! Feeling the board rail edge to edge! Super loose! Really LOVE this board! Jesse stopped by for a look-see, but not enough wave to pull him off the beach. Super fun session!

With gear still wet from Tofino I headed out for the evening session joined by Ruth and Ozzy and Sam and Cyril !!
I hurt a toe in tofino so Ive been wearing just regular socks instead of booties, it works fine!
Had some really good jumps there, saw the parking lot :)

What an incredible day. Wind upon arrival at 11:30. Started with the 6.2 and was just flying. The new whip feels way more stable and comfortable to plane. Eventually rigged down to a 5.7, but proved to be way too big by the time I had to leave. Funnest day windsurfing yet.

Another swell swell session at RB. I spent more time with playing with the Cloverfield monsters to get used to that level of turbulence. BWD, RuppD, MrNS were rippin' it out in the bigs while I tried to survive and not crash. Jon, Matt, and RobC were making their forays out there too. Still amazed at how messy and bumpy it is beyond Clover. Getting more used to the downhill runs and not panicking at the speed. Feeling super blessed by these last few days of great wind and swell and foiler stoke.

I'm feeling a lot more controlled on foil on both sides, and getting better at staying low on the mast to minimize sketchy wipe outs. It's still a novelty to be able to steer in directions other than just as far upwind as I can go, so I had fun sailing on beam and broad reaches, and zipping over towards Ang, Jon, and Andrew to give them a whoop.
