Pumped up the 5 and debated 999 or 1099. Shaggy was successful with the 1099 so 1099 it was. Pesky intermittent leak in my 5m bladder delayed the start. All good once I was out there! Wind gradually increased and great crowd out at the point playing in the Clover Wave Park.

I arrived earlier than the wind and tried my big kite and big Tiki. My first attempt coincided with a lull and there was not enough power in the kite to get me going. I tried to drop into the water and do a water start in the other direction but I ended up too far underneath the kite and the lines went slack and the kite fell from the sky. Eureka day for me! Not only did I discover that I couldn't lift because I left the stabilizer cover on. I broke my Clover Point wall and spent most of the session mixing it up with the really skilled riders, and I was able to be safe and not be a hazard to others. With no wind in the bay, I was forced to play out by the point, the only place with decent wind. Great 30 seconds of foiling in warm, sunny conditions! I didn't believe MtnarG that there was no wind as he was exiting with his 8m. I shoulda followed his wisdom! Sometime persistence doesn't pay off and some of the shots you take just don't score. It's hard to beat down a positively hopeful outlook on wind. Perhaps tomorrow...

nice easy launch with a small light patch inshore.. then outside was beauty.. decent little chop to pop off but not much for waves with the flood... when it picked up couple nice loops and jumps! ran offshore when I saw a big boat coming to jump and slash their wake... fun, but hands were cold af after 45mins.. gave my crave up to Ruth for a session.. think she really enjoyed herself!! smiles everywhere

Felt like it was dropping after I arrived, so I rigged the 10m to test before getting suited up. Came up a bit and the kite felt fine in the air, so I grabbed the big surfboard for a quick session. No real swell to play in, but a gorgeous evening to be on the water.

I got in the water late after a morning of mountain biking. I saw big winds and lot sof slogging, so I went with my 6m Cab. I quickly noted that I was nearly OPd in the bay and definitely well OPd even close to the point. Beyond the point had a crowd of elite riders that I did not want to become another obstacle. Lots of fun inside trying more short flags and quicker jibes. A day full of fun and sunshine - until I got kicked out of my illegal parking space by the parking police.

Well, I won't expand too much on the first half. Slogging, more slogging, chasing a wind mirage while being slapped around in a strong ebb. The wind finally picked up once I inflated the Cab 6.2 and gave me a chance to get some foiling in this day.

While it didn't seem like it was going to turn out to be much, this afternoon was one of the most enjoyable and consistent winds I've ever experienced at RB. Not over the top, no great swell, but consistent breeze that just made for a ton of practice time on things needing work.

1st DW attempt at RB. Paddled in the lee of Clover and into the small wind swell. Surprisingly was able to stand up without too much trouble and 1st 3 attempts paddling up got onto foil but the 1675 is squirrelly AF until it reaches proper cruising speed, so it spat me off repeatedly before I could connect with the next wave.
