Fantastic Ross Bay session, was able to get on the water earlier than expected and had a goal of going 50k. Sunscreen on and no hood (to start) pumped up the 4 and used that for the first 1.5 hrs, felt it lighten up and went in for my 5, water and a snack. Made one toe side tack, had a pretty good slam, but no kelp so was able to rip all over the bay! Ended up sailing 73k .. will be feeling it tomorrow. Thank you Ross Bay!

Party wave! An unsual afternoon session at Centennial. Tide timed well with my comittments. Tide had come in and wind looked solid (but past the peak of the wind according to the graph). Choppy confused wind swell with a couple of nice clean waves hidden amoungst the witch's brew. Wind was solid enough to keep moving around, but lost ground to the flooding tide. Big shout out to Johnny, the hero of the day, chasing down and rescuing my wing after my waist leash ripped open after a crash! We took the late afternoon shift with Craig, when the tide was high enough to wing. So lucky he was there, thanks bro!!! Showed off my uncannily bad timing again today. As soon as Gord and I put in at Willows, the winds turned off. Paul had just told me he had his best high wind day ever. Gord and I were lucky to get sneeze level onshore puffs. I might have gotten one foiling run and jibe in the lull-full session. I blame Paul for greedily using up all the wind. Hoping for decent Tuesday winds.

Double session - After a great 10 cm snowboard session at Cypress, I caught the low tide wave session at 3rd Avenue on 5m+surfboard in SSE 25-30. Waist high breaking waves with long clean sections between. Nice sharing the waves with Sam (7m+surfboard) and watching Jens (solo windsurfer) playing in the waves. Later joined by Cash, Shab, Dan and a few others. What a great way to start the week :D

I only had a very short time window to get foiling, and it was smack dab in the lull zone. I spent over an hour practicing my upwind slogging, toeside riding off foil, pumping experimentation, and smoothly executed repeated off-foil jibes! Legend stuff! Some 10kt gusts finally helped me get up and I got a few foiling runs as my time ran out. It was good practice for jibing in light winds that can only help me. Looked like it might come good at Ross Bay for a bit today so I left the house with fingers crossed. Arrived to Bobson and one winger already out. Rigged the big foil as it was pretty light. Had a few good rides on the small chop in the big ebb just under the point as a few others arrived. Came in near the end to put on the smaller foil, of course it was starting to die when I got back out. Fun session at the Terminal with Dmitry, Andrew and a few others. Finally had a good session on my wr980 and had a bit of a taste of what down winding would be like. There was some nice knee high swell at the end of the terminal where Dmitry and I sailed for a while. You could jibe off one and then just cruise toeside down wind for what seemed like ages. Wing-sesh #6. Put in an hour on the Windfoil then it picked up to 15kts so came in and rigged the 6.2m Ensis Wing. Got some foiling runs in but no actual foiling gybes but stayed dry the whole time so that was nice. Wind dropped off again so struggled getting on the foil without a huge amount of pumping. I figure I need a solid 13kts to get up and then maybe 10-12 to keep going. Some fun runs but as it's been lately not quite enough wind. Mon + Tues look like there will be some so hoping for some more Wingi ... (more)

Arrived early to get my parking spot. I really wanted to Wing again and I think RB is the best place for me to progress. So I waited 30 mins and the wind filled in to gusts of 10-12kts. Unexpected session. Wind looked around 10-12 when I arrived with Bobson Windfoiling and somebody else I didnt recognize getting around on the foil, so started getting ready with the 5M. Forgot my pump - but Fraser loaned me one! Thanks. Slogged my way out to the wind line and hopped on foil. Made my way up to the point and did my best to not fall off foil for about 20 mins before the wind picked up to 15-18 and a few others joined in. With yesterday's RB fake-cast, I decided to jump on the actual light wind at IV. Arrived to 10-13kts and no one around. Looked good so rigged the 6.0m as the 7.0m is a lot of work and my body was fairly tired from last nights 2 hours of Wing-schlog. Anyways, got out and was foiling right away in the light winds and didn't really come off the foil the whole session. It felt natural and easy and fast. I like the Wing-Thing, but the Windsurf foil still has it's merits like I know how to do it and don't get wet ... (more)

Finally sorted the dw board. Foil in the right spot and the jibes started coming together. Not perfect but conected many. Conditions were light with Bobson blowing past me windfoiling. Got a solid hour in and the the wind started to lighten up. Having a dw board is so good to get more sessions in in marginal conditions.

As per usual, got out before it had built sufficiently, so watched enviously as neighbor Mike on the kite sped away- after a bit of pumping, cursing, sweating, managed to get foiling.
