I had a couple of sessions separated by a few hours. I went in early with JunkMan, despite the frightening, to me, shorebreak. I did get out and foiled in survival mode for about 30min. Conditions were at the limit of my low skills and the break was only increasing. I ended the first session early and went to look for easier venues, leaving Dan and Junky to frolic in the froth. Apparently the conditions dropped soon after I left. I returned for a 2nd sesh in the PM in easier conditions and chased Danno, GMa ... (more)

Waited for the clearing westerly at RB. Got the 5m and 3m pumped up in the rain waiting to see how windy it would be once it cleared. Took one pass on the 5m and came in to grab the 3! Big gusts, flat for a bit, then decent swell, then flat again, then some decent swell. Real mixed bag. Some take downs from logs while pushing top speeds is never fun. Really enjoying figuring our the new front foil and tail - difficult, but better. Cool to see a sub cruise by at the end of the session. Debrief at RBP with T ... (more)

Timing of tide/wind perfect, 4 great runs 94/5.0 & it dropped off :/ sat in van hoping annoying wind foil could go away til summer lame light wind doldrums. Then it picked up & waves were impressive for such little wind! Had to resort to the 110 /5.0 a little OP at times. Holes made waves better? Wind exceeded forecast, kept going up.

AJ & Dents joined in the fun, both doing some good looking wave riding

A little rusty after not winging since Dec.22 but a great day to try my new SF850 foil with the surf tail. Low stall speed and good top end! All the locals out on this rising tide. Lots of power overall , but a 20 minute lull happened just after a rain squall. A few over-foil situations and a few 3m sails out too. I think I caught the same piece of eel grass with a root three times. More wind than endurance for all:)

Decided on willows as I thought there would be less shorebreak and as I was trying a new board I knew I would have to go in and out a few times to change setup. Started out way too much lift and had to go in right away and move mast back. Over all really liked the board, got up on foil faster, felt very rigid and turned nicely. Fiber. Chill in the air and cool on the hands sans gloves for nine degrees. Wind was light on arrival and big John and I chatted about the slack mid-tide and decided to launch from Centennial. Wind was light but built while I was rigging and big John was ripping around by the time I took to the water. It ramped up so fast I was thinking I was likely to he over gunned shortly, but wasn't. Flattened the sail out and it all worked. Enough power to sail up to the boat ramp and enjoy the wind swell (and dod ... (more)

Driving Rain and lull at the beach had me questioning priorities. Fortunately a yelling at by the Goateed Wonder to 'Get my shit together' and get out there prodded me into action. 7m felt light but then it wasn't as the wind kicked in, rain abated then stopped. Proceeded to have an awesome session with on-water high fives with GW, who had some great boosts. Next 2 hrs consisted of lit rides, throwing spray and wave-riding socials with Tsawassen and Gerin.

Scanned the shoreline from Willows to Clover for the best swells. Enterprise Channel was best. Gotta try it soon! Ended up back at Willows with Junky and Idefix for 40 mins before it tanked. Some fun swells by Cattle Point and out by the islands. Avoided some brown kelp over by Turkey - turned out to be a lazy sea lion cruising the shoreline. Packed up for lunch and it came back as I left. Maybe a west session this evening?

Repeat of yesterday- playing outside at the spit.

Strangely though, considering the gale forecast, it only stayed for an hour, then eased off.

I followed Danno and Gee in their slogging ways thinking that I could do better. NOT. 30 min and 2.62km of unwanted windsurfing. Nil lift. Luckilly Danno packed up and that brought wind! I followed Bobson and Poper into the light wind fray and got up pretty easily. I found the best winds at the CLover Pt level. Lots of flotsam and there were a few consequence free collisions. Fun sharing the swells with RDog and Adrian and the post windsurfing brews were yummy. Got some drone footage of Bobson's greatness!

I followed Bobson's lead and headed out into what seemed like too-light conditions, but a quarter mile off the beach the wind picked up quite a bit and I was able to lift no problem with the 5.5m/1080 combo. Had some great passes with Bobson, HRocker, RuppDogg, but then I had a weird wipeout where my leg got stuck on my board as I went down and I tweaked the shite out of my hip. Made me feel like an old man. The damage doesn't seem too bad so hopefully I'll be back out again tomorrow!

Arrived to not much with Sir Danno coming in swearing and The little Drunken Monkey having a nap in his Monkey-Van. Whatever!?!? H-Rock woke up and Danno was packing up and then they started drinking beverages.....again, whatever!?!? Then what to our wondering eyes did appear but The Pope and 9 tiny reindeer.? I went pee and then we all chatted while the booze-hounds drank. I saw and felt some wind so rigged up a fat 6.0m Sailworks Flyer and my big 1700cm2 foil. Headed out and 4 mins later I was up and foil ... (more)

Seas were large enough the prudent thing would have been to play in the fishbowl- so of course I went outside;-)

Was fun, but after 20 mins the wind eased off enough, with the 4m, getting back on the foil after a crash ( ie often!) was a frustrating experience.

Was teaching the seagulls new curse words

By all indicators, San Pareil was the place to wing today. Arrived to rain and light air. I finished rigging a 6.0 and white caps moved in close. Re-jig and sailed on. A bit noisy at times on the Cab 4.5 but no complaints. Local kiter Dave dropped by to check the launch and continued on to Rathtrevor Beach. Easy to walk in and take off from the sandy shores but I misjudged the sand bar (again) on the way back in. Only moi and a few sea lions to share the break.

Arrived gambling it would turn on, but it definitely didn't lol. Rigged for some light sailing then changed to 5.7 115L once it picked up for about an hour. Nice to be back on the water after long unintentional break. 2 wings and a kiter were also on site.

Got out early with big gusty day forecast. Came in when gusts were too strong and lulls too deep.

Used the 90L board again, and it worked nicely. Got a few more gybes. The glides with the smaller board seem longer, and the sensitivity to foot position is greater when fully powered.

Well, after what seemed like a long time (only 6 days), back out front for a mellow wave session.

Little bit of W in it, so Denman provided some break, so waves weren't quite as big as they normally would.

Tried out a 90L board again today. Getting used to the tippiness.

Had 1.5 hours before lunch. Almost the only one out there in the morning. Many more folks this afternoon. Surprisingly the wind was less than forecast, and the 4.5m was perfect most of the day.

Didn't want to hit the gym today so decided to hit up CP for a pump workout. I'm calling this session a Windsurfing session as I never got up on Foil but did get 2 hours of pumping in nice weather with lots of other boats out and about. I put on the 2389cm2 front foil feeling hopeful but it never happened. The HUGE foil really made the board ride very steady so looking forward to using it while Winging to begin with. Maybe some more wind on Monday afternoon. My watch told me I burned 1000 calories in 2 hour ... (more)

Tried out a 90L board initially. An AK Phazer, that was a little tippy to kneel on compared to the Konrad, but fun and light feeling.

I switched back to the bigger board for the second on water session when the wind notched down around 3pm.

Short of time , caught a glimpse of a club wazp sailor who caught the last of the ebb rip current and foiled towards 3rd beach. By the time I was out they were among the freighters. The Tide transition worked quite heavily on the available wind. First night of training for the Hollyburn Junior race team so lots of activity around the compound.

Another nice day in mild conditions. Started slow with a 5.2m wing around 1:30, then downsized to a 4.5m until the wind backed off around 4:30 pm

Made a few more gybes. Gotta do more toe side riding and improve pointing to windward, among other skills.
