On it fairly early and was pretty light at times. Haven't been out in a few weeks so took a bit to remember how this stuff works. Played in the small swell close to shore and had some fun turns. Liking the 275 more and more with the 840 each time but definitely harder to get on foil in light air and chop. Lots of people by the end.

Early start (9:30) at Willows, already a crowd of wings and TheBobson. Quite light overall, so rigged big, but back on my regular small board. Ventured out to Tweezers to join Tweezer and WindJunky, but it was quite a jumbly mess and couldn't get any decent rides, also a a bit weird wind angle, so headed back to the regular Baie du Willy. Goofed around with tacks and jibes, very puffy, had a break to relieve the dreaded forearm/grip cramps, then back out for one more short session.

Dawn patrol at Cattle point. Wasn't expecting much and yet showed up to a windy sunrise. Got out on the 5m with a slowly deflating strut so decided to step down to a 4m almost immediately. This worked for a while but holes in the wind started to become more and more frequent. Big drops down to sub 10 kn leaving me stranded occasionally. Still a lot of fun and a beautiful sunrise.

Missed it by that much :(
The early shift, Tuna, H-Rock and Lancer got the best of it! Wind dropping as I rigged. A good workout on the 5.0 and back in to upsize. Keeping warm was the goal, a shot of hot water in the mitts and a bigger board to stay afloat. Light sailing with Tweezer with a long slog to end the session. Maybe tomorrow :))

First decent foil in awhile. Arrived to Highrocker getting ready - I was a little slow getting out there as it was FREEZING but sunny. First 10km didnt fall in once, wind was pretty steady, but had hard to stay entertained in the cold and flat conditions. Went in to unfreeze the hands and Danno arrived with some hot water for the gloves and suite which warmed me up nicely and I was pretty comfortable for the rest of the session. Beautiful day out there!

Well, pretty typical Sidney I guess. Was planning to drive to CP but it looked nice in Sidney. I know better than to go out on a 4m in Sidney when its marginal but felt rebellious. Flew up to Sidney waterfront for some runs between the red and green cans then it started getting lighter. Long slog in from green can back to Lochside. Swapped in the big rig 6.5m and had a few runs but dropped to sub-10. Oh well. Hands were a bit cold but great to be out in the sun.

Just WOW! Best conditions for me this year and I only had 1hr free. Shared the foiling joy with Tuna and Lancer and Idefix was just getting in as I was exiting. Mildly OP'd with my small 6m, but I wasn't risking a pumpfest with such a short foiling window for me. Wind line nearly at beach with nearly immediate lift for me with the big foil. Went out to islets and found the winds a bit reduced. Best winds were at MTI level to 50m off beach. Tuna was rippin' it as Tuna does! Lancer getting lots of lift!

Sometime you get it right and sometimes you do not. Today was the latter for me. Should have either rigged the 7.0m or gone to IV. Oh well. Looking good upon arrival with H-Rock packing up. 10-14kts and flat water! By the time I was on the water it was 8-12kts, a couple runs and it was gone. Out by Jemmy Jones I decided it wasn't coming back so headed back straight downwind. Hands were warm as I used the NRS mitts! Maybe more tomorrow.

Felt like deja vu, all over again. Same NE wind with tidal chop/swell and overcast skies as Wed. Maybe a bit cooler and few more holes out there. It was just me and the fast cat practicing their race runs. I mostly avoided their tracks - I only had one instance when I went astray. All good, regardless. The swell and wind direction even let me get some modified flagged run practice. Sweet! Upwind stbd jibe was iffy for me - not turning fully enough. Bobson was just getting there as I left his parking spot.

Played Game of Foils with Idefix, WJunky, Bobson, and Steve. Lots of confusing tidal action, but the winds were fairly constant, particularly off Jemmy Jones. Bobson passed me at relativistic speeds. Danno jibed with style. WJ used distance to avoid my unpredictable course choices. Steve jumped often. I followed Idefix across to Chatham Is crossing some impressively scary whitewater on foil. Awesome evening sesh with some of the other wingers who also have jobs. Fun riding with Tweezer, ULR and John. Watching ULR and Tweezer tack motivated me to practice some tacks even though it was pretty cold, got through two tacks with touch and goes! Tweezer also sailing around inverted with wing on his weather side, tried a couple of those but was only able to get the wing around before it launched me backwards, something to work on. Happy Valentines Day all Windlovers. I decided to take a few hours off work to enjoy the cool breeze. Arrived to CP to 8-13kts with The Junkman. Decided on (bigger) 6.0m sail and smaller (900cm2) foil. The first hour was light (8-13kts) with a few holes and then it picked up to 12-15kts for 2nd hour with a few stronger gusts out by Jemmy Jones with lots of flat water. Been wanting to try this spot. A ways East of Moses Pt, I call it Whale Rock. Off Landsend in Satellite Channel. Immediately regretted having the 999 setup on as the wind was a bit marginal for the 4m, so came in and painstakingly extracted those long ass bolts and swapped in to 1010. Then it was great. Swung by a nice cruising sloop at full sail in 20 knots powering up the Channel to say hi. Occasional short rides on decent waves. Looking forward to more of this spot in the future. Arrived to see TunaCan flying in 8-14kts on his 5.0m. Started rigging and ULR showed up with his fancy new Green-Machine!! Got my state of the art RBFC XL shirt and rigged 6.0m as it looked better than yesterday. Not so much. Went out and got 12 minutes of fun foiling then it died. ULR on his 5 made it work for awhile and TunaCan was ripping on his 7.0m so I came in and rigged up to my 7.0 and big front foil (1100cm2) but Tuna came in and said there was no wind. Got sucked out to Cattle by erroneous reading of message from Bobson. Could have sworn he said it was windy. Oh well, it was a beautiful sunny, warm day and Tuna was flying as I arrived! Rigged big and by the time I got going, Tuna was coming in for the 7m and Bobson was not flying. But I had the secret light wind board weapon, the 128lt Indiana and got flying on the first reach, then low slow dying wind jibe and splat. Nice session today after a windless lull. Perfect 6.2m wing conditions. Sadly, I locked my big wing in my Yakima carrier and left the key at home. Meh. Luckily I had my 5m handy. Just not good for my allergy to pumping. There was enough to get up and foil steadily until I hit holes in Caddy. The stress forced me to have a GnT at RVYC. Cooking today took out the 4 m should've taken the three but still manageable. Great time swells very very nice. Everything was going great until my board leash came unhooked. and you know how it goes you can't catch the board. It tends to surf in pretty fast so I rescued just pump the wing and got in pretty good so overall a good fun time and some good experience and that situation.

Took an extended lunch as forecast and actual wind looked similar. Jumped on it and headed out in rainy cold weather. Not the greatest but it soon stopped raining as H-Rock arrived and then the sun came out. Nice work H-Rock!! Weird tidal chop between boat launch and Jemmy Jones, further up Caddy Bay it flattened out but got holey and gustier. Looked much better than yesterday, 5.0/94 was great most of the time, waves were good @start, then it was hunting time. A few decent jumps, hit the bar with my ass on a backloop late in the sesh, not as many sea lions playing out today. Best part was seeing AJ ripping upwind today! Fun outing, Porks nailing a couple of wave upwind 360's, wow! Played along with Ozy til wind died off at 130 ish. Woke up early to drive North, stopped at Rathtrevor to check it out as I was feeling a flat water session. Not enough breeze to risk the walk out. Wave session at Columbia Beach instead. This was my first time here, met windsurfers Alex and Kus along with a few sea lions. Pretty good waves and long rides for me though I was often overpowered as I got further out. Shore break would have been tough if it was much bigger, and the locals told me the waves were small today.
