Arrived after my dentist appoint with a frozen mouth so might have been slurring. Lots of doods on Goat Hill so I parked down below with the masses of others. All of a sudden, Rock Star parking opened up so I ran over and grabbed it getting some dirty looks from ULR who apparently thought he should have it. oh well. Went with the bigger foil, light to start until dark clouds started to appear and produced a nice little 15 knot squall. Tried a toe side tack and ended up getting my leashes tangled so called it a day.

Looked good and windy on the cam so gathered up the gear and headed down to the bay. Arrived to less than stellar conditions and not a lot of the peeps flying. Everyone eventually came in and I waited around for about an hour till it came back to flying levels. RupDog and Bobson were already out so joined them in the easy, light, no wave conditions. Crazy 3 wing day. Went out with Paul and Tuna with 6m and found I was well OP'd by CLover. Stayed closer in until I decided to switch to 4m. Got lots of nice carves but holes started to develop that I couldn't pump through. Switched to 5m and played in the swells with the Doc as he flew around me. Lancer successfully flew my 6m Mantis. Came off foil as I tried to chase down Paul and Lancer. We all turned around and slogged it back in as the winds reduced. Great to get out after the long dry spell.

Another sudo session. Wind was okay when setting up and dropped when I was ready to go out. I hung around for a bit hoping it would come up and it sort of did. So I went out with Brett right behind with a 14m kite. I tried a couple of starts and realized it was for naught. I came in and in a few minutes a rain squall arrived so I hurried to put my gear away. But the time I changed out of the wet suit, it was properly raining and properly windy. It was not meant to be today.

Tried a slide in Marseille on a FOne board and foil (eagle 990) and a 4m Neil pryde. Offshore conditions made the water flat and the wind very gusty. Water was nice with a 4/3 wetsuit. Scenery was very cool. Lots of breakwaters and beaches to explore. Only a couple others out at Pointe Rouge. Seemed like everyone started at 2pm. Maybe again tomorrow?

Unfortunately missed the pre-sail discussion! Arrived to Bobson and The Pope launching, figured I had to join them. Slogged for 30 minutes tacking up to the point and with a well timed gust and small swell made it up on the foil, had around 20 minutes of flotsam free fun. A bit of everything- a strong SE, easing forecast, so started out on the 5m, after 20mins, came in and got the 6m- of course it came back in hard, so was largely overpowered. Some fun wave rides though.
And gave the drysuit a rest, and tried the brand new wetsuit ( props to DirtyMermaid - reasonable cost, quick shipping) - turns out a suit that isn't more patches and holes than actual neoprene is quite warm and comfortable- who knew.

Mostly Slogging (is that Windsurfing') though potential was there .7km upwind. Tried to sail to North shore shoal of French Creek but wind got lighter & lighter then swung & dropped to WSW at 2 knots making return to launch spot impossible. Too light wind for gybing so I was tacking only.

With the promising forest (se20-30), pumped up the 5m and rushed out.
Once again though, wind line stayed frustratingly offshore, so underpowered for a good portion.
When it did come in a bit more, some nice rides, until you hit the annoyingly ubiquitous weed patches- which would then have me create some spectacular Shamus, as the board came to a halt.
Hopefully wind will continue to build, and i can get to the spit fishbowl this afternoon.

Similar to Thursday maybe a little lighter, had to wait for the gusts to get going. Seemed like some kelp had made its way round from RB and pretty sure I was dragging some eel grass round for a while. Headed in and crossed paths with ULR heading out for his light wind sesh.

Scored a quick late afternoon session. Decided to check Cattle even though it didn't seem very windy at the house, on cams, or on latest wind reports. Arrived to see RupDog out flying so rigged up the big gear. Rupert was just about at the boat ramp schlogging in when I went out. The magic setup had me flying in no time and winging up toward the micro wind at the mouth of Cadboro Bay. Only came off foil once after a jibe in a light patch near shore. Other than that Twas sweet!

A beautiful sunny day with enough breeze to fly on the 'super light wind' gear. The Axis PNG1150 never fails to amaze me for its amazing lift, ridiculous low stall speed, and great pumping ability. Even though it was light, it was easy peasey flying with the gear and a really nice time. Joined RupDog and Paul who were already out. No gps, watch needed charging.

Unexpected Afternoon Delight '?
Just after lunch a quick squall line came in- which meant the race ( unofficial, unspoken, but there :-) was on between Neighbor Mike the kiter and me to get out first- spoiler alert, wingding for the win!
Was fun while it lasted- of course i got greedy and tried for one last loop, and had a drift in.

Opposite of yesterday- this time started out on the 6m, but after 45 mins or so, quite overpowered.
Came in for the 5m, and had another good 45minutes playing with some pretty good sized swells.
Wind died just a few minutes early, so a drift in, but all in all another gooder.

Playing tides qnd meek winds made it from Hollyburn Sailing Club to 400m S. of the Capilano River. Salmon still jumping all over and fisherman were yelping when they get a chance to land one. The heat & significant sun meant it shoulda been boardshorts and T-Shirt sailing but I stupidly over dressed with 2mm neoprene on my legs. Wind filled in to QD Bouy 1,5km west of the Cap river then sailed back to the Club and derigged & stowed gear for the trip back to Nanaimo.

Once again, wind line held offshore longer than hoped - initially tried the 5m, but immediately realized a no go. Got the 6m, and while initially underpowered, wind built enough to foil consistently.
Again, since the main wind was holding offshore, there was some impressively sized swell for the wind speed.
Apparently my balance sucks enough i still need the "crutch " of the wing overhead, but still fun.

Forecast not reality, lame wind but eventually decided not knowing foil low end was a loss, so rigged 5.3/2000. When I got out I felt like 8kn but it picked up a little bit. 3 short foil runs not exhilarating, hit the bar to boot, jeez. 5.9 next time. Good to know tho
