Hard to believe it's November. Warm and sunny. Arrived early. 5m was perfect for a while, then it really started to pick up. After that, I mostly stayed on the inside where the wind was lighter and the water was flatter. I made some gybes, but also did the walk of shame. I haven't done that in a while. All in all, a great day.

A beautiful sunny windy day and me with the afternoon off!! Got on water about 1pm, most of the swell rides up near Clover with occasional sets running down to the middle of the bay. Wind got really light on the inside and lower down in the bay so stayed up at the point. Lots of peeps out for a work day afternoon, SuperDave (again!), BigWaveDave, Dog, MikeB, Tugboat, Tweezer, and a couple other, plus the usual "work? what's that?" crew of Dan, Grant, Ang. Finally got down to the water by mid afternoon. With my 5 m getting repaired, I made the reluctant decision to go out on a 6m because conditions seemed to be dropping amd 4m was going to be iffy. It was shaping up to be a good session, but leash string on my wing snapped and had to paddle back in from wtf out. Tweezer went out of his way to go on a rescue mission for my wing. He is owed many coronas. Almost went back out, but the wind really looked like it was starting to drop.

A swell day that ended flat. I spent a fabulous OP'd hour in the bay working on gybing in tough conditions. I found if I went out too far out of the bay, my 5m would end up getting ripped by a knee drop, rupp-dog. So I stayed close in and occasionally strayed too far right and into the remainder of the kelp forest. Fun times regardless with Lancer, Mtnarg, Greg, Greg, and Dan. Pretty good winter session. The wind was up and down but when it was up it was fabulous for some thrilling high speed toeside and healside gybes. The water was not angry or confused so it was fairly smooth riding today. It felt real good to be on the water today.

First 15 mins was on my 5, a little overpowered, then during a fairly good wipe out I put my knee through it! Managed to kinda foil in, pumped up the 4 which turned out to be the right choice. Fantastic evening session, may have seen a whale, less kelp than usual and a sunset .. sweet!

Decent swells even at the end of the flood. Wind held nicely for the crispy new 5m. Having fun and then saw Tyl's wing tumbling riderless, so beelined after it. Tried to tow it in using the board leash but it was too draggy. Moved the board leash up to my belt and was able to fly closer to shore but couldn't clear the point and I haven't practiced tacking or gybing with 2 wings, so opted for a rocky landing. Humbling session on 5m+surfboard at Spanish Bank. W 20-30. Underpowered in the lulls, overpowered in the gust which felt well over 30. Mike went up to Acadia and Dog Beach on his new 7m Duotone Neo. Sean on 10m+TT. I stayed below Spanish Banks riding with Ted who was holding down his 10m+surfboard :shock: In retrospect maybe my 8m would have been the better choice but still enjoyed jybing head high waves on a small kite. Good to see Francis and Don winging down at Tolmie.

Solo launched at Dog Beach at 930 into 30 knots +. One other wing and a few wind surfers. Struggle and finally rig down to 2.9m. Some glorious sunshine and waves for an hour but then started to struggle again, not realizing that the air was leaking out of the wing. Had to slog in as the wing was folding. Nice walk of shame. Glad I wasn't pulverized by all the rip-rap recently added along kilometers of shore.

Jesse on it early and got some nice ones on the WS kit. Looked windy so went 4m. Got to water and my strut was leaking. Went out anyway and had some small rides before the strut was too soft. Walked all the way back, repumped the strut, and back out to find the wind even funkier. Caught one nice sized nugget before packing it in. Fun?

Arrived at 1pm and it was just coming in, 10-12kt on the beach and lots more upwind with big whitecaps visable. I pulled out the 6.0m and within 5 mins it was 10-14kts at the beach and dark water not too far away. I put the 6.0m away and pulled out the 5.2m Flyer and rigged it full. With the 800cm2 front wing it really needs some power and board speed to get going but once going it really glides quickly so once I'm up it's golden! Got out and the waves were getting bigger. Unexpected session around 2pm! fun on the lee side of Clover and winds were gusty to start so some decent jumps! nice to search for waves west but it eventually dropped a bit with looming rain clouds rolling in. good turn out huge thanks for the pump!

Arrived a bit late to the party. Managed one reach with the 4m but came in as it dropped. Waited and chatted then had a decent session on the 5.5 after it came back up. Felt back in the groove with the 400 tail.

Scored a nice sunny warm session at RB foil park. Some fun swell a little further outside than the normal lanes. Got fairly light at the end and had to sneak back to the beach via Shaggy's sneaky insider knowledge..that is followed him in the kelp gap by the point then pumped the slightly offshore wind from the corner down to the launch, sweet! and stayed dry with no swim in! Oh yeah, there's hope for the world, a sighting of Super Dave today! ..and rainbows

Gusty and offshore, but warm! Overpowered on the 5 and larger foil, switched to the MA1000 and moved the mast back 2cm which made a big difference, almost pumped up the 4. Had another hr or so of powered and rolling swell, with a few solid kelp hits! Fun day, ready for more!

Came into Victoria after a 12 hour commute from the Eastern seaboard on a plane that was getting thrown around in a Westerly upon landing at YYJ. Quickly checked the Weiler cam and lo and behold. Made the most sense to grab gear and get straight to RB. Showed up during a lull. Almost gave up left but TunaCan convinced me that it had been up and down all afternoon and to stick it out. Came in 1/2hr intervals, missed 1st one, 4.7/85 then 94, some fun jumps, overrotated flat landing backloop ended that, back injury very much not better. Windy one minute then serious mill pond moments. Great crew, Mikal trying to overcome shore current beach start hurdles, good beach laughs at end. Thx for beers DM. Great to see Beaner, Vic wing team. Pottys protos are cool!

I got an hours' worth of foiling fun with Greg, Ben, Jon, and Max. Met Slava, a newcomer, who was getting familiar with his board/foil in the the shallows. 6/10 conditions. It was the usual gusts and holes but with an offshore wind. I usually enjoy the gusts, but there was no real base wind for foiling. It was either gusting or nothing.
