30min of fun and 2ft chop then it suddenly died to 0. Waited a while then it filled in fast and the swell jacked up with super fun waves. Nice to be home but felt very jet laggy and wobbly. I didn't think it was possible to feel drunk and hungover at the same time.

Got on it fairly early (2 ish), as it has had this annoying tendency to blow then lull, with me showing up for the lull. Keep forgetting to turn on gps, so times don't start till later when wipe outs. Nice 4.0m conditions with some good 3' swell rides. Then right on schedule becalmed, an we're all bobbing around except the wiley bwd who sensed it and beelined to the beach so as to not get his hair wet. I feel like I showed up just at the right time. Strong consistent wind with some large smooth sets. Really enjoyed a glassy right that started to form. Really good surf for a while. Wind started to drop off around 1915.

Some serious wind today. Rigged Sharon a 4.7 to start at 11:30. But it was stupid windy pretty quick and she only lasted one rip out and back. Went to grab her the 4.2 but by the time we got it down to the beach it was already 3.7. Lots of windsurfers out with some gals out on 3.0 or 3.2.
I waited for less wind due to a light wind knee tweak at SP recently. Finally went for the 4.7 at around 5:00 but could easily have gone 4.2. It gradually tapered off so called it around 6:30. Lots of happy people in the c ... (more)

Downwinger with Dean and Marty. Immediately got caught in kelp, then put foil through leading edge in shorebreak...ugh. Lucky M had a spare, so rigged 'r up and got out there. Exceptionally good swell at Tugwell and the Otter zone. Gnarly conditions though, got quite gusty as the fog enveloped us. A little spooky inside the ping pong ball. Everyone late home and in trouble. Except Greg, out solo'ing somewhere off Otter in the fog.

Fickle wind day today. Followed MtnarG into the fray with my biggest Cab62. Marginal in the bay, then overpowered 3/4's of the way out. Very changeable too. The swell seemed more turbulent than usual, or my gybes are just not as good as I think they are. There was enough energy to surf the swells, but sometimes difficult to foil back out when the winds diminished. The winds did slow after about an hour and I ended session 1. Took the Tiki out with a re-adjusted Go-Joe, I was still hoping it would work as a sail to push the Tiki log downwind. Sadly the new configuration is not going to work either. Arrived at Clover and rigged up with Dave and Clive. Didn't recognize Tweezer when he stopped by with his sweet new ride! Rigged the 9m and foil and headed out, after 30 mins got blown out of the water when the wind came up to 22 kts, came in and rigged the 5m and foil. Was good for a while until the wind started to decline until it was back to where it started around 15 kts. Nice to have the sun out and was leaving as the later crew came in.

Arrived to 15-18kts from the SSW so decided to foil. After about 20min on the water it cranked to near 25 from the W, encouraging those on the water to head to shore for smaller gear. I ditched my foil and grabbed the twin tip hoping for a few jumps and spins without having to pump a different kite. Unfortunately, the wind dropped slowly over the next 30min and by the time I left it was back down to 13-15kts. Hope it picks up for the sunset crew.

Great to see Davey_k today and always nice to know people on the water. Rigged a bit bigger, so the 9m and foil, was overpowered at times but allowed me to plow through the odd kelp if I wasn't being tossed head first because of it. A fun session in the sun, with still lots of random kelp mine fields to watch out for, sunglasses helped.

Met j_dog for a session on a lovely summer afternoon. Seemed like it was enough wind for the 12m and it was but just barely. I just wanted to have fun and not have to work the kite to get back and forth. So I came in and pumped the 14.5m. That was a good choice, it was just right amount of power so that I was really well supported by the kite and could just have fun and do my foot changes without much effort. (At least on one side.). Arrived to wingers slogging in. Hit Clover and got lucky with a parking spot and wind. Paddled out at boat ramp over the kelp on board upside down and was rewarded with steady wind and some beauty debris free swell. The glare is brutal lately in the evenings. Need to try sunnies again.

A bit slow on the draw today with Paul, Idefix, MtnarG, and Greg getting in at mid-afternoon before I could get there. Good power throughout the hour that I foiled, and there was some medium swell near the point that encouraged play. A bit better with my gybes today, but very much a work in progress. Did my usual drunken monkey carves and sudden, tight gybes, but without windows on my Cab62, the boys told me that there were a few close calls and many near misses! Lesson learned!
