Happy 4th! Hiho n I got a 5.0/94 US treat, sun (fog cleared), waves w/few solid soldiers 3-7ft easy going guys, odd big mostly happy guys. Had lovely time for most 1.5hrs, then got light, lull/no waterstart way out & I got hot! After such treats to slog 20 waves out only to lose the mother going in pissed me off. Beertime! Lovely wave day! Found last pub serving!! Jambalaya Seafood pasta & Sunny Beach IPA :) fireworks alright!!

Cadillac. Surf/wind checks at south jetty and the cape, then off to the rock. Biggest wind swell of our trip today (so far). There were some big close-out sets rolling through both above and below the rock. The locals were on it early on small-four-somethings. Many experienced and skilled sailors got washed today. 3 days in a row at The Rock, something is wrong! No waves again at the Cape but they were massive at the rock today. Logo high sets and light on the inside made for some very intense moments. The forecast looked stronger than yesterday, but a lull while I was rigging up sapped my confidence and I rigged my big stuff. Mostly overpowered but enabled a closer to the bluffs heading on the trip to the North Arm. Epic waves, but wishing for smaller gear. Nevertheless, stayed longer before heading home to Locarno.

Great day off the Point, better than expected!
Rolled in just after 11 with the tide ebbing and a solid 18 knots. Hit the water and enjoyed the next few hours in surprisingly awesome conditions with solid head to shoulder high waves up off Tower Beach for some great rides and big smiles. Regret not bringing the small surfboard! Kept waiting for the wind to wain but it kept going, had to move the bag/pump/accoutrements above the high tide line. On the water at 11am to enjoy the flat water outflow. 90kms completed on the outflow. It turned at 4pm ish. Did another 90 mins on the inflow but went out on the 4.5m which was a bit too small so a bit of schlogging. Hands are raw from all the pumping today. Fun to foil in 12kts and completely flat water right out front of campground. I'm getting better hitting my foiling gybes in <10kts of wind. Long day on the water. All the usual suspects. Fantastic PL session with Highrocker, more foil time on the new KT 90L. Bit of a challenge moving from 115 to 90l. Slogging to the wind line still a clown show but sweeter on foil. Consistent 20kts for the duration. Good swell just North of the Hudsons and near the point. Wind shifted closer in the bay late afternoon, great for some speed runs and wing jousting with H-Rock.

Friend or foe? Morning surf/wind checks at the south jetty (strong, fairly steady wind, but was pretty flat) and the cape (super windy and no meaningful ground swell). Next stop the rock. Chatter on the beach was there was more wind than this time yesterday so the locals were opting for one size down (about 4.2 the average today). Our crew opted for 4.0 down to 3.7. With local venues in a state of lull, Idefix and I travelled north for some sweet Piper's goodness. 25deg air temp, empty bay, consistent 20kt winds for our first session with the 4mX3. I got in just as Uddereef and the local elite riders finished their wind play in the bigger early winds. They certainly left lots leftover for us foilers and the water in the bay was welcomingly warm. Humbling. What Kus said, but bigger after he left Light air every Time (sigh) through the impact zone. Three washing machine events before getting out with logo high sets crashing on me. Outside was big but not dumping. A few short up the line recovery's after 'Maytag events', and a nice ride in DTL when i finally got out. No swims, no big hikes, no broken gear. Good day one?

2nd session at Squamish. Scored a very civilized 2hrs with early start in steady SW 20-24 on 6m+surfboard. Called it quits at 1pm just before it turned to ugly westerly. Alton Jr scored her first tack on a strapless surfboard. Nice to see AJ.
